EXCLUSIVE--TEXAS AG ABBOTT TO BLM: 'COME AND TAKE IT'
Breitbart ^ | April 22, 2014 | By Bob Price

Posted on 04/22/2014 1:56:16 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

After Breitbart Texas reported on the U.S. Bureau of Land Management’s (BLM) intent to seize 90,000 acres belonging to Texas landholders along the Texas/Oklahoma line, Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott questioned the BLM’s authority to take such action.

“I am about ready,” General Abbott told Breitbart Texas, “to go to go to the Red River and raise a ‘Come and Take It’ flag to tell the feds to stay out of Texas.”

Gen. Abbott sent a strongly-worded letter to BLM Director Neil Kornze, asking for answers to a series of questions related to the potential land grab.

“I am deeply concerned about the notion that the Bureau of Land Management believes the federal government has the authority to swoop in and take land that has been owned and cultivated by Texas landowners for generations,” General Abbott wrote. “The BLM’s newly asserted claims to land along the Red River threaten to upset long-settled private property rights and undermine fundamental principles—including the rule of law—that form the foundation of our democracy. Yet, the BLM has failed to disclose either its full intentions or the legal justification for its proposed actions. Decisions of this magnitude must not be made inside a bureaucratic black box.”

In an exclusive interview with Breitbart Texas, General Abbott said, “This is the latest line of attack by the Obama Administration where it seems like they have a complete disregard for the rule of law in this country ...And now they’ve crossed the line quite literally by coming into the State of Texas and trying to claim Texas land as federal land. And, as the Attorney General of Texas I am not going to allow this.”

“Abbot’s going to need a recoil-less rifle...”

There would be Texas Rangers holding his wheelchair steady. One time I almost fell right in front of him. We were at a gathering at the governor's mansion in Austin and were on the grounds under a tent. He and other dignitaries were in front of me, facing me.

I have fibromyalgia so my balance is poor - I keep my balance by using my eyes to see big objects like furniture or cars or buildings and I can see where my feet are. Under that tent there was nothing big to see and the grass was long and covered my feet - I couldn't tell where up was and lost balance, fell and grabbed my husband to stop the fall. Had he not been there, I would have been on the grass in front of Abbott.

I didn't let go of husband until I got out of that tent and on concrete to see my feet. Then, there were big objects I could see and I was fine. If I stand up and close my eyes, I don't know where up is and fall and hit the floor. I can close my eyes and have my hand on something to tell me where up is, and don't fall. I am so used to doing that, it's not a problem. But it was a problem that day. How would one recover from falling in that situation? Thank God it didn't happen.

IF the BLM moves in Texas (my bet they will not) they should be met with a massive force-—Many Thousands with armor and air units. With cannons and cavalry. there should also be Tea Party luminaries, political people, etc... The ObamaThugs must see that their tyrany will not be just accepted.

I’m not see any description of why the BLM wants to take this land. Somebody, somewhere must know what they want the land for.

A preemptive warning.

Perhaps you can expand into State/Fed Constitutional Law?

Texas isn't getting more liberal, it's getting more conservative. We have more conservative politicians in office than when I was a kid. Of course, we've got Republicans, too, and a few democrats.

“Can you Texify the new CA... liberal migrants in time to keep Texas free?”

We do not have CA liberals - we have CA conservatives who left that state. NO CA liberal wants to come here, they hate us.

In the days ahead, if Texans living just south of God’s country—Oklahoma—notice guys in bad suits renting earthmoving equipment, prolly a good idea to keep a close eye on the Angus. Phederal phags shoot cattle and bury the evidence.

"She's turned out to be a bit... disappointing. "

That's what long term native New Hampshireites said about Souter.

Like Travis, Bowie, Crockett, Houston and many others, Americans by birth, Texans by choice.

I’ve lived in California, Georgia, the deep South but Texas is my home. I’ve left Texas four times. I always came back. I don’t plan on leaving again. I plan on dieing here.

I think I'm already having success with one -- the guy who lives across the street. If you haven't already seen it, here's the story from a recent post. It's taken 15 years for him to come around but I knew it was happening when he finally removed the COEXIST bumper sticker. His teenage daughter probably has as much to do with his gradual transformation as did I and my next door neighbor. And today, on the so-called "Earth Day", when he got home from work, I saw he was out cutting his grass with a big red Toro gas-powered lawnmower. That would have never happened before.

You can follow the timeline over the years here on Free Republic by searching for the keywords of Texas, Nashua and neighbor.

In Washington state another 10.5% is owned by the State, County or City govts.

Bringing the total up to 40.5%.

First, I'm going to make a peanut butter and apricot preserve sandwich and have glass of milk with it as this thread has made me hungry, then I'll get right on that. :o) In reality, understanding any law is not difficult when one knows what the legal words mean and those are simple words but have certain meanings in law. When instructing in law, first I give them those words and what they mean. It's not difficult, just has to be learned.

Sell off the Western Public lands to private US citizens and eliminate the need for “management” of Western Public Lands.
