The Obama administration once again has punted on a final decision for the Keystone XL pipeline, announcing ahead of the holiday weekend that it is extending a key review period indefinitely -- a move that could push off a determination until after the midterm elections.
Republicans, as well as red-state Democrats who want the pipeline approved, slammed the administration for the delay.
"It's absolutely ridiculous that this well over five year long process is continuing for an undetermined amount of time," Sen. Heidi Heitkamp, D-N.H., said in a statement.

Øbama votes “present” and people are surprised???
You say that now, Mary, but when Reid issues the Senate
"hog-call" you'll be right there in line waiting for the slop
NOTHING is more important than the Rats expanding their permanent base of voters and creating a lock on power in perpetuity. Nothing.
With the cowards we have on the GOP? Good Idea but it would require willpower to fight back they have not had in 20 years.
The decision to NOT build Keystone was made in the White House years ago... But the Juvenile President has planned all along to not announce it until after the midterms. Why anyone in the world would be surprised by this latest announcement, and it’s timing, is a total mystery to me.....! Given the Agenda of the executive branch, it was very obvious to predict.
Go ahead and sell it to China, Canada.
Don’t they know how hard it is to get good tee times?
The man can’t miss a tee time. Geeez.
“and Dem congressmen get hung out to dry”
And this is a bad thing why? :)
They're saving all their willpower for Comprehensive Immigration Reform.
And they will not have to worry about their political future due to all the new Dims either.
We'll vote them out THIS YEAR!
All the articles I read about the demographics and political leanings of "immigrants" being a death knell to some future GOP make me laugh.
Whenever the GOP votes this in, they will be instantly, politically, dead. They'd be lucky to get 30% of their incumbents reelected in the first election following the act.
Kabuki theatre intended to make some Democrat senators up for re-election look “moderate”.
If the Democrats TRULY cared about America, they would vote to repeal Obama’s Death Panels.
He will never allow it and neither will President Hillary.
That isn’t willpower. It’s cowardice. Raw, pure and unfiltered. They fear the New York Times and MSNBC. And getting unfriended by their BFFs in LaRaza and Nambla.
Bammy needs to be tied to a tank car in one of Buffett’s Oil Trains of Death.
“Obama will never pivot to the center.”
The verb “pivot” was ill-conceived. It means to turn away from as well as to turn towards. So, if they’re turning towards jobs they’re turning away from...what? It has so many negative connotations I can’t believe that’s what the focus-grouped. It makes you wonder what the runner-up was. “Move away from communism?”
That we have an economy held hostage by one man is dictatorship.
What’s to stop Obama and “conservatives” making a deal at some point that Obama approves Keystone and the “conservatives” cave on the invasion of the US?
This is proof positive to me that O will do anything to keep the economy from improving.Better minds than mine can figure why.
That's my concern. The best principle is not to make any deal with Obama until he is gone in 2017.
The Canadians should open their pocketbook and build a massive refinery. It would be worth it, since they have 200 billion barrels of proven feasible reserves.
I have to admit I have not researched each of the individual Dem positions, but those Dems mentioned in the article,,are they are up for re-election this midterm cycle? If so, I’d say that their foot-stamping is for show and only for show.
