If You Find Yourself Believing This, Glenn Beck Wants You to Unfriend Him (Anti Bundy Rant)
The Blaze ^ | 04/15/14 | Erica Ritz

Posted on 04/15/2014 12:31:43 PM PDT by nhwingut

Glenn Beck has a message for anyone who is “crying for revolution, insurrection … and a call to arms”: He wants nothing to do with you.

“This morning I got up and I saw some more news reports, and more people in America that are standing up now and crying for revolution, insurrection, arming yourself, and a call to arms,” Beck said on his radio program Tuesday. “I will tell you I believe in the Second Amendment, and I will defend myself. I believe in the rights that we have. But I will tell you more than I believe in my rights, I believe in the responsibilities that we have to God. And God does not call anyone to anger. God does not call anyone to vengeance ever, ever, ever.”

Glenn, you were never my friend in the first place.

And your statement that "And God does not call anyone to anger ” is just a wee bit (somewhere in the neighborhood of 180 degrees) off from what is noted in the Good Book.

Wow, that was disturbing. And he makes fun of Alex Jones??

I have noticed he has taken to , in a joking way, reminding those two sidekicks of his that they work for him and can be fired. Like I said he doies it jokingly but I get the impression he is very serious.

Same thing when they all make fun of the other guy--Jeffey--it's very mean spirited the way he does it.

I don't listen much, maybe 20 minutes a week. Typically it's the ass clown posse morning show routine, him belittling his "friends" or the kumbaya, Mother Theresa/MLK impersonation and I turn it off for all that stuff.

“Beck has officially gone crazy.”

I believe the correct interpretation is, “We don’t start the fight, but we don’t run from the one somebody started against us.”

Cliven Bundy is concerned only with “Stand your ground”, and while some of his reasoning is based on a different premise, I end up agreeing pretty much with what he has done and intends to continue doing.

There will NOT be an assault carried out against Harry Reid’s personal residence, or against the BLM headquarters in Las Vegas. That would only invite overwhelming retaliation on the part of the Feral government.

The Bundy ranch is now off limits to such an incursion as was faced down a few days ago at the I-15 overpass. The Feral people may very well WANT to come back, but it shall cost them dearly if they should choose that course of action.

“Don’t Tread on Me” is more than a slogan on a flag.

“I’m focusing on the 2014 election right now ...”

That seems to be the best course. November isn’t that far away, and Republicans stand to win enough seats in both houses to turn Obama into a lame duck. That would greatly improve the chances of the GOP taking the big prize in 2016.

A violent confrontation, over this particular issue, is more likely to hand the election to the Democrats (and likely 2016 too), than to spark a popular uprising.

Bundy has had more due process over the decades than some death row inmates have had. And he has lost every step of the way.

That may be so, but it doesn't excuse the Feds' deployment of hundreds of heavily armed agents. There was no life-threatening crime in progress. Paramilitary goons for grazing cattle? It was a provocation, and a dangerously stupid one at that.

“This morning I got up and I saw some more news reports, and more people in America that are standing up now and crying for revolution, insurrection, arming yourself, and a call to arms . . . I will tell you I believe in the Second Amendment, and I will defend myself. I believe in the rights that we have."

I believe in arming ourselves as a precaution and in the Second Amendment as a stronger protection than the First Amendment. The First is worded as a fairly strong "Congress shall make no law" while the Second is worded as the even stronger "shall not be infringed." The Second is an absolute, and I believe in it as the surest guarantee of freedom, but only for so long as we take personal responsibility for defending freedom.

"But I will tell you more than I believe in my rights, I believe in the responsibilities that we have to God. And God does not call anyone to anger. God does not call anyone to vengeance ever, ever, ever."

I read the Bible differently.

Luke 22:36,38 "Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one. And they said, Lord, behold, here are two swords. And he said unto them, It is enough."

To me, that says clearly that there are times to fight ("he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one"; although there are times not to fight as when Jesus was arrested) but that fighting should only be a last resort, in moderation (here are two swords . . . it is enough). Fighting, even with deadly weapons, is not necessarily about vengeance, and it is not necessarily forbidden.

This issue is not about grazing fees or back taxes or lost court battles. This is about the over reaction and overreach of the corrupt (way too big and powerful) federal government.

Snipers, black helicopters, tasers, dogs, etc. Really... For grazing fees?

I don’t know about Bundy but apparently nobody has the courage to confront a very real problem within our ranks. If retired Sheriff Mack isn’t removed from the equation, he’ll take every body down.

Terrorists fight from behind women and children and that clown proudly promoting it is more than a minor problem.

I personally believe that Beck is up and down. I agree with some things he says and disagree with others. On this issue, I think Mr. Bundy is right in that the Fed has control over far too much land and that the law is fundamentally wrong.
However, law is law and respect for the law is what has set this nation apart from many others for a long time.

What needs to be done is to change the law. THAT is the goal they should be going for now. The fight needs to be a legal one. I believe he has the support to accomplish this now.

Yesterday I had to turn off the normally sane Roger Hedgecock too..

He absolutely hates Bundy and all who supported him.

I am not at all surprised. He has a strong Statist streak in him.

What Beck doesn’t understand is that the guilt or innocence of Bundy is irrelevant. What the episode displays for the world to see is that when dealing with a Federal Bureaucracy we have completely lost the protection of due process.

Very well said! That's a key point missed by many on the right. And not only have we lost the protection of due process, we have lost the concept of proportional response.

A guy doesn't pay his grazing fees, and he is faced with a unit of fed's dressed up like combat infantrymen. It's a sickening spectacle. The only thing missing was an Abrams tank. I suppose that will be added to the SOP for next time.

"Insurrection is just what the government wants. Then it will have no choice but to use force. It will be the fault of the insurrectionists. Beck is right. The fight needs to be an intellectual fight. The people cannot win a fight with force. And the government know this."

I think one of the goals of the left is to deliberately provoke right-wing violence through their incremental subversion of the Constitution and civil liberties. The cutting edge of left-wing activism right now is the gay rights movement because they think they can isolate Christians from the rest of society, particularly moderate independents who aren't particularly for gay marriage but are not adamantly against it. The left is coming close to overplaying its hand on this issue.

Which brings me to the Bundy ranch problem. Here, it is the right that is overplaying its hand and making a poster boy of a guy who cannot be portrayed as an unambiguously innocent victim. Even many on this thread concede he has broken the law, so why make him our cause celebre?

As for the government's show of force, I think THAT - not Bundy in particular - is the issue we should focus on: the increasing tendency of local, state, and federal law enforcement to turn everything into a SWAT exercise with spooky overkill, a show of force grossly inappropriate to the threat. Average Americans CAN identify with that, but not if the government is confronted with an armed civilian posse which might make that show of force seem legitimate.

And I am not saying that the day for an armed civilian posse will never come, but that now is not the time.
