International efforts to combat global warming are so broken that it's come to this: hoovering massive amounts of carbon dioxide out of the sky.
A body of scientists convened under the auspices of the United Nations is giving more weight to the idea that vacuuming vast stores of CO2 from the skies and burying it in the ground may be necessary to limit the temperature rise to the internationally agreed safe level of 3.6 degrees Fahrenheit above pre-industrial levels. The plan's not quite like a giant thermostat for the whole globe, but the metaphor's not completely off either.

This only proves that most scientists are now government grant recipients.

Crazy like a fox. Imagine the potential to tax us all to accomplish such a task.... On top of that, the people the perpetuate the hoax are the ones who will benefit financially by offering “their green services.” The politicians will get plenty of kickback from their “green friends” and they can all feel good about it while we pay for it - forever.
These idiots are the biggest danger to freedom. The ability to “tax” carbon is nothing more than the ability to tax anything and everything. FRegards.
My part of the planet was cool enough this past winter.
That can't ever happen, because our infinitely wise and powerful overlords at the UN are able to carefully put together the perfect balance of input without any errors at all.
Hopefully, it will suck the UN right along with it, into one of those black holes never to be seen again!
Sounds like a “green jobs program” set-up to me.
At least the UN is fully staffed to do the job themselves......
But if they can extract it for a reasonable cost, pump it into Greenhouses and help grow food to feed the world.
Wikipedia has an interesting article on method of Carbon dioxide removal. Doesn't sound like any of them are ready for prime time.

I like to point out to them that water vapor is 10 to 12 times more problematic as a greenhouse gas than CO2 and then ask if we should reduce H2O emissions?
