The United States and Canada are far more integrated than most people think. In fact, a merger between the two countries isn't just desirableit's inevitable.
We share more than just the world's longest border. We share the same values, lifestyles and aspirations. Our societies and economies are becoming similar in significant ways.

I’d swap their conservative prime minister for our socialist President.
That planned mega-corridor is essential I-35.
I'd like to see the Saskatchewan Roughriders in the NFL.
I married a Canadian.
While such an international union is...interesting...on a personal level, I strongly recommend it be avoided on a national level.
The USA was born of violent overthrow of empire rule. Canada was born of polite dissolution of governmental control, while retaining monarchal oversight. The origins make a difference.
Yeah, that’s what I thought. Hurray for the North American Union.
Canada gets too much ice; hard to get traction there.
Is this getting any ink north of the border?
The first merger is to be formed of the NeoEuropa states from Maine down to Maryland. They must be purged from America and ceded to East Canada west including Ontario.
The second merger is The Left coast from Mexico north to British Columbia. . Those states must be purged and ceded to West Canada. The red counties of California, Oregon and Washington might be allowed to join the new American Union
The third merger includes those states in the middle that merge with Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. Deetroit, Northern Indiana and Chicago might also be purged.
Isolated Minnesota will have to be tolerated and the moonbats urged to move east.
Texas will be come the Capitol.
Right. Like we need the French welfarite tards of Quebec. no thanks. I can deal with Inuits is about it.
Mostly, we write on birch bark, with homemade oak gall ink. If this is written down, the bark hasn’t been passed around here yet.
I didn’t even have to read the entire article. The flaw in the thinking is revealed here:
>>>>We share the same values, lifestyles and aspirations. Our societies and economies are becoming similar in significant ways.<<<<
As an Alaskan, I’ve spend a fair amount of time near and in Canadian territory. The author is (to be polite) clueless. I would say that we share SIMILAR values, lifestyles, and aspirations, but there are differences both subtle and obvious - starting with Canadian identity, which is forged from the existence of a powerful southern neighbor. Most Canadians that I’ve known see their identity in counterpoint to the United States. There’s a quiet pride in things Canadian that are better than their American neighbors. They’re consistently looking for differences. Or as a guy in British Columbia once told me, “Yeah, we’re like the States if the streets were clean and the people were polite.”
Although I’d love to see a Tim Horton’s in Fairbanks or Anchorage.
And anyone who sees the current conservative government in Ottawa and thinks it is converging must be smoking something tolerated in Vancouver. Sheesh.
Only if they get to keep their mosquitos.
We’ll merge with Mexico before we merge with Canada. In fact, we’re half way there already.
To get even MORE Liberals?
Not really. It will never happen anyway.
LOL!
Unless one claims refugee status. Amazingly, somehow people can get on international flights without documentation.
Thanks, I had forgotten the Interstate number.
