Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton told an audience in New York that the news media has a double standard against women in powerful position, and offered advice to younger women on how to overcome it.
There is a double standard, Clinton said, according to Politico. We have all experienced it.
Clinton was speaking on a panel at the Women in the World conference in New York Thursday, along with International Monetary Fund chief Christine Lagarde and moderated by New York Times columnist Thomas Friedman.
The double standard is alive and well, and I think in many respects the media is the principal propagator of its persistence, Clinton continued. And I think the media needs to be, you know, more self-consciously aware of that.
Hillary Clinton supporters have frequently complained about her tough treatment by the media, particularly when she faced off against Barack Obama for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2008.

“Hillary 2016”
Because women are victims.
"What difference does it make?!"
Grow up Hillary!
Harry Reid would go bat$hit crazy if the Koch brothers made profits trading cattle futures.
Poor baby.
Live by identity politics, die by identity politics.
It's not as though Hillary had any more actual accomplishments than Barack Obama had (e.g. "none whatsoever"), rather her main selling point was the type of sexual organs she allegedly possessed, whereas Obama's main selling point was the color of his skin.
Hillary Clinton is no doubt tremendously against serial sexual abusers...unless the abuser in question just happens to be keeping her well-upholstered a$$ seated in the White House. Don’t talk to me about ‘double standards’, Hillary.
Is she outraged women outnumber college graduation 60/40? How much AA do they need?
Pray America Wakes
After 24 years of the brutal treatment of the Clintons by the media, Hillary probably wants some of the lavish love and fawning coverage that the media gives Governor Palin and her family, and all the other republican women.
Someone should ask Hillary directly, would she prefer to switch media coverage with Sarah Palin.
I would like to see that response.
Paula Jones and Juanita Broderick agree - they feel there's a double standard too. Linda Tripp feels the same...

Paula Jones and Juanita Broderick agree - they're sure there's a double standard. Linda Tripp feels the same...
If she did they wouldn’t report it unless they could belittle her in the process...
What difference does it make, witch?
Hey Billary the Hitch, do you think you could take the media criticism Sarah Palin was subjected to after she was named VEEP candidate in 2008?

Has the Butcher of Benghazi been held to the same standard as a man would have been?
its always best to create an imaginary issue rather than:
HER FAILED TERM AS SEC OF STATE
RUSSIA
BENGHAZI
MIDDLE EAST
her biggest success was dancing in s. Africa and drinking beer
She is a PRODUCT of the MEDIA and Soros’s money. She has zero qualifications to do much of anything. She looks looney and on drugs and has a scared deer in the headlights demeanor. Unsuiable for office. FBIgate, Travelgate,Benghazi coverup.... pathetic.
Apparently, the only set of circumstances in which Hillary can deliver applause lines is by bare-faced lying to groups of her principal supporters, angry feminists.
Women currently have a LOWER unemployment rate than men. If there’s a double standard, it’s men who are the victims.
How will this woman-as-victim theme go over when Hillary’s campaigning at New Hampshire diners filled with unemployed lumbermen? This is worth waiting for.
Do the Clintons ever shut up?
They’ve been given the moon but they still bitch about everything.
Typical baby-boomers.
Back to the kitchen, Cookie Maker.
Just like mac daddy - from frying pan into the fire.
“Cankles” Clinton knows all about double-standards...
