Jeb Bush a formidable foe for emerging GOP field
The Washington Times ^ | 20 March 2014 | Seth McLaughlin

Jeb Bush is casting a shadow over the entire field of potential Republican presidential candidates, as the former Florida governor continues to ponder a run in 2016 and keep his political options open.

On one hand, the Bush name, a network of donors and his relatively conservative record as governor make Mr. Bush a force to be reckoned with.

But the Bush name also could work against him. Even his mother waffled on whether the country is ready for another member of her family to run for the White House.

Let’s go for broke, nominate Limpy Linda Graham, let him (or her) embarrass the whole country as he (or she) has South Carolina. Give a whole new meaning to going down to defeat.

This really proves how completely out of touch the establishment GOP is.

Well many here have predicted the GOP will find a way to lose the next Presidential election. This seems to be one that guarantees that outcome. Unbelievable.

No worries, his primary candidacy will go down in flames, no matter how much “oligarchistic” money they throw at him... Rand Paul and Ted Cruz will take the populist vote!

Hey GOPer’s, there are no GOPe populists out here to hand you anything, only dupes, and even thy have wizened since the last two GOPe candidates crashed and burned.

So, IMO, we have to stop the thinking that the GOP-E pulls all the strings...because WE SURROUND THEM and no they don’t. WE DO!!! We just have to get off our butts and stand together.

I agree. I'm not saying it can't be done, only that it will be a challenge. FWIW, Rand Paul is the candidate I'm most interested in at this point. I see him as the only non-establishment GOP candidate with a possible chance of going all the way.

You may very well see another president from the wreckage of the Republican party but you will never see another Ronald Reagan or Dwight Eisenhower. The current GOP puts forth candidates who would have been soundly rejected as radicals too far left for the Democrats a few decades back.

When it comes to shadow casting, nobody has anything on Chris Christie!

I will write-in Tom Cruz, hoping I have more choices down ticket.

Oh, wait, looks like Scott Brown (RINO carpetbagger NH) is running against Jeanne Shaheen (Communist carpetbagger NH).

Ah, another write-in opportunity - Testerman for Senate.

I disagree. I think they know, they just don’t care. They are exactly like libtards...they are smarter than us and know wants better for us than we do.

They do not. An entire generation of duds who in one way or another deconstructed Reaganism, which is utterly gone now.

They want all the perks with none of the responsibility.

And if Jeb is the nominee....my presidential vote will be a write in.

If that occurs, why bother even going to the polling place? I went in 2012, held my nose, and voted for Romney. I won't ever do that again. If the GOPe succeeds in getting someone like Bush nominated, we should all concede that the game is up, they've won, and just stay home.
