On Jan. 1, 2014, tens of thousands of defiant gun owners seemingly made the choice not to register their semi-automatic rifles with the state of Connecticut as required by a hastily-passed gun control law. By possessing unregistered so-called assault rifles, they all technically became guilty of committing Class D felonies overnight.
Police had received 47,916 applications for assault weapons certificates and 21,000 incomplete applications as of Dec. 31, Lt. Paul Vance told The Courant.
At roughly 50,000 applications, officials estimate that as little as 15 percent of the covered semi-automatic rifles have actually been registered with the state. No one has anything close to definitive figures, but the most conservative estimates place the number of unregistered assault weapons well above 50,000, and perhaps as high as 350,000, the report states.
Needless to say, officials and some lawmakers are stunned.

I can only guess at the State Police pucker factor when they begin...plenty o homes armed, and no knock raids sound an awful lot like home invasions
Stick it to The Man.
When the Nazis ask you to register your guns, don’t do anything.
So, thousands of gun owners became class D felons overnight? Wonder if Holder will withdraw his attempt to approve voter rights for convicted felons?
To be all “correcty” here - Paul Revere (and 2 others) rode through with the call of “The Regulars are out”.
Then Everyone in the Colonies were British, but divided in their Loyalties.
Should they obey General Gage’s commands and surrender to the Chains of Slavery or should they remain on their Feet...?
Hard choices then and now -

“...Massive, State-Wide Act of Civil Disobedience”
Otherwise known as a justifiable “executive order” of the people.
All well and good. But until these hand-wringing, nanny-state types are voted out of office not much changes. Just more infringement on liberty.
It was a Solzhenitzyn quote.
Its coming..because evil in leftists is not compromising by nature. They are control freaks.
Or if, during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat there in their lairs, paling with terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand?
After all, you knew ahead of time that those bluecaps were out at night for no good purpose. And you could be sure ahead of time that you'd be cracking the skull of a cutthroat.
Or what about the Black Maria sitting out there on the street with one lonely chauffeur -- what if it had been driven off or its tires spiked. The Organs would very quickly have suffered a shortage of officers and transport and, notwithstanding all of Stalin's thirst, the cursed machine would have ground to a halt!"
Recently, a grand jury in Texas refused to indict a guy for killing a sheriff during a no knock raid.
So, at the stroke of a pen and the turn of the calendar, the state of Connecticut now has 333,000 armed felons. I think that constitutes Unintended Consequences. That would make a heckuva title for a book...
When guns are outlawed, only idiots will be without them.

Yesterday in Venezuela, there was a country-wide series of peaceful demonstrations against the Government. Lots of cities joined and some didnt but what has happened since Neo Communism was democratically voted into office came to happen once again: Violence against the demonstrators.
Now according to the law down there, anti-riot police is strictly forbidden in the usage of lethal ammunition against unarmed rioters. The problem is that Less-Than-Lethal can be quite damaging if the officers do not adhere to the recommended practices by the manufacturers which tends to be shooting at a distance not closer than 35 feet. So the Venezuelan officers love to get close and personal.

My Great Dane, and Husky will alert me very early to reach over, pick up my shotgun and flip off the safety. This is a good day to die. Some will come with me.
People follow the laws for the same reason they pay protection money to the mafia. The government’s legitimacy flows from its willingness to use brute force, and is completely disconnected from “consent of the governed.”

I was up late last night looking at these pics and reports about how a “few detractors” started the uprising. I am sure Obama is taking lessons from watching how it is done. Juan Pablo from the show “The Bachelor” put out a tweet which showed these pics and he said he is shocked no media are covering this.
Um, maybe we traded them for non-scary things before the deadline.
We were not legally required to file paperwork for trading a rifle, for, say, a bag of manure....
