Former Army Gen. David Petraeus , who has traditionally stayed away from political endorsements, appears to be eager to support a Hillary Clinton candidacy, a new book alleges.
Shed make a tremendous President, the former commander and CIA director reportedly says in the new book HRC: State Secrets and the Rebirth of Hillary Clinton, by Jonathan Allen and Amie Parnes.
Like a lot of great leaders, her most impressive qualities were most visible during tough times, Petraeus adds.
The comments mark an interesting departure for Petraeus, who, when it comes to politics, has typically remained quiet.
The book, to be released Tuesday, alleges that the unlikely pair forged a friendship while Clinton was Secretary of State.
According to excerpts of HRC, obtained by ABC News, Clinton, soon after taking office, invited Petraeus to her Washington home to drink wine and discuss Middle East issues. The night was so enjoyable that she invited him over again the next night to continue their chat.
Petraeus ignores the fed’s limited powers of the Constitution which he swore to protect and defend.
He supports her. That settles it! Harry Belafonte $hit on Colin Powell’s face years ago. General Powell liked it.
I had to look to see if this was a Semmens piece....
David Petraeus is following in Wesley Clark’s foot steps.
I have more high-level military and intelligence experience than Mr. Obama, but many could say that. As a buck private, I wrote the DMZ Report that went straight to the desk of the president, secretary of defense and on down in the Pentagon.
Sounds like the IRS has more on him than just the girlfriend story.
The depths to which this loser is capable of never cease to amaze me.
I have been telling everyone this guy was a Dem for ten years. I understood that was the case when he was at Ft Campbell and became the media favorite going into DS.
Another idiot on the loose.
It sounds like da boy has his eye on the VP slot.
My cynicism just can’t keep up with the speed of betrayal in DC.
Wow, what does this regime have on Petraeus? Must be pretty damning.
Had yer fingers crossed, ehh Dave ? !
Avoiding Arkancide!
Yet another reason why I wait wait wait before I jump on the bandwagon of folks who come out of nowhere, and do something we like.
Remember that lady from Texas last week? She was lamenting the idiotic way Obama is impacting the nation’s health care and health care providers. Some folks wanted to run her for office immediately on that alone.
We really need to tighten up our standards.
We also need to be very honest with ourselves regarding policy, when it’s someone we like too.
If it’s bad when one guy does it, guess what? It’s also bad when our own person wants to do it.
No chance unless they are promoting semi-virs to be general officers these days.
He only said this to protect the few remaining general officers and senior 0-5/0-6s to rebuild the Army and military after Obama; should he fail to say such things, they would be sacked and untold lies unleashed upon the innocent to serve the political purposes of the socialists hell bent on communism.
I’m afraid Petraeus speaks for the American people even though he shouldn’t.
Of course they do. He was already compromised by that sexual affair, the kind of thing that gets many people courtmartialed. It is possible that the affair is the smallest piece of information they have on him. Maybe his NSA file has some tantalizing stuff in it.
