0bama’s “Affordable Health Care” chickens coming home to roost.
And by the way, most of our workers are now part-time..
George Bush strikes again!
IOW, why the heck should we support them when the cost can be spread over the taxpayers? I wonder how the deductibles compare?
All abooooooooooooooard!
Corporate triple talk.
This crap could have been written by obama's speech police writers.
Translation: We ain't paying, go see the halfrican, communist, mooselimb, prick in the white hut.
Remember, if you had a doctor that you liked, tough....
Ask your favorite liberal what they think the goals of Obamacare are.
It sure isn’t making insurance affordable and available, and it sure isn’t insuring more people.
Anyone who even glanced at the text of the bill saw this coming.
The Health Insurance Marketplaces provides (an excuse for Target not to provide) new options for healthcare coverage that we believe (meaning we did not ask or survey) our part-time members may prefer, she wrote. In fact, by offering them insurance, we could actually disqualify many of them from being eligible for newly available subsidies that could reduce their overall health insurance expense. (In other words, why should we help our employees when the Federal Government will pay for it.. thanks Chamber of Commence.)
Kozlak added that at present, fewer than 10 percent of part-time employees that are eligible have actually enrolled in the companys healthcare plan. (So what is the big deal)
Our decision to discontinue this benefit comes after careful consideration of the impact to our stores (not really, careful review of the Income Statment) part-time team members and to Target (we really did not ask them) , the new options available for our part-time team (tax payers can now pay the bill) , and the historically low number of team members who elected to enroll in the part-time plan, (screw the 10% who want health insurance)
Another 0bamaCare victory!
Next step, drop full time employees for ostensibly the same reason.
She forgot to add:
And we no longer have to pay out more money for Health insurance for you part-time Employees. It’s all on your heads now!
Most companies would love to dump health care - this will be hitting many employees - even full time ones within the next few years.
I work at a facility that is turning every full time job into two part time jobs. I foresee this happening this autumn when the new calendar year occurs.
If that’s a $500 annual payment...that stinks.
If it’s $500 per month...that’s $6000 a year before the employee even clocks in.
Talk about wealth redistribution.
The plans offered to part-timers typically have very restricted benefits, and a relatively low lifetime cap.
No doubt now illegal under the ACA.
Though it is better than nothing, which, given the rates in the exchanges, most part-time retail workers are likely to have.
IOW obamacare is working as planned.
Part time employee is 30hr/wk x @9/hr = 14040/year. That is 122% of poverty level and you can get Medicaid in many states.
