Cable is to TV what the dial up is to online access.
We no longer need Cable to see what we want and when we want to.
Streaming TV allows us to dump cable.
Get a Roku or a Smart TV.
Get Netflix for $8.00 and Hulu Plus for $12.
And stations such as METV even stream on local sub channels that you can access for free!
well. there might be a VLC plug-in in my browser. But I think these shows are streamed in ‘Flash’.
I get a screen which looks like it would play the selection, but it demands a free account, and when I fill that out, it wants CC # and other personal data. I bailed. I’m using Opera v12. I get sooooooooo close... darnit.

I tried again this morning, and got to the point of “playing”, but 5 windows opened-up, one demanding an account be established, an update.exe app wanted to speed-up playing, Norton blocked Suspicious.Cloud.exe as a virus from installing itself... trying again.
Now a scanner has taken-over my computer, scanning registry etc and isolating file. I killed it and closed FF! JEEEEZ!

Well, I’m sorry.
I have none of those problems. I have customized my browser security settings over the years and they are higher than ‘normal’.
Perhaps that is the difference.
Well, I’ll quit recommending those sites or make it clearer that they are risky. You seem to know more than the average person on the net and you have so much trouble.

No problem. This was an eye-opening ‘adventure’. LOL.
Gosh, I’ve never had this kind of problem streaming videos, but apparently my FF settings aren’t as good as they should be, and my daily browser, Opera, which has heightened security, isn’t accepted by that site.
I was just surprised at the ferocity of attack and pile-on on that site; usually, it’s a subtle file download with a virus attached, but this was really blatant. Yikes! Guess I’m far more vulnerable with FF than with Opera.
Both Norton and Windows Defender intercepted numerous files which were ‘risky’, or just plain ‘dangerous’. So I bailed on trying anymore at the site.
Thanks for the FlashPlayer settings; I’m checking mine now and making some ‘adjustments’.

It seems most people with FF use Adblockerplus and have no problem.
Most people dowenload the videos because high quality causes pauses in the stream. That’s why I gave up on Netflix on my DSL. But, I believe, you need a special downloader program for that. There are good free ones.

It’s not as well organized and the quality is very high so streams might pause. The first episode is about 3/4 of the way down on the page.
I can’t get Opera to play a single link on that page; nothing. FF plays the links, but Game Ninja, V2Cigs, Sportsbook and Progressive ads are bombarding the FF browser. And at Cinapalace, the account demand sign-up screen block the plays. I don’t know what to do to fix it, so I guess I’m not meant to watch the videos until I get some plug-ins and add-ons to block this drech. Working on it...

I noticed my CPUs going crazy on one of the Win-7 Gadget CPU Meters, and after opening the Control Panel, I found 5 apps installed on 12/21 - the day I went to the streaming video site - which was causing this.
If you don’t have a CPU meter available, you won’t notice it, but that much heavy CPU usage will cause problems with the computer, prematurely wearing it out or causing crashes.
Winamp, Sendori, Social Browsing, Social Browsing DNS, Browser Protect - anything dated 12/21/13 was uninstalled by me this morning, and the CPUs have settled-down and are back to normal range.

FYI I ran a Malwarebytes scan today, first in maybe 2 years.
Found only one trojan (that probably didn’t come from the internet caonsidering where it was- in some old robtics programs).
MSE is all the security I use.
It must be something in my security settings that make this all go so well for me but I wish I knew just what it was!
So do I. Until I used FF on that WD video site, I’ve not had a malware/adware problem in 4-5yrs. I couldn’t believe the 4 CPUs going crazy this morning. I uninstalled everything dated 12/21 in CP’s Program & Features section, and it’s running fine again. I used to use Malwarebytes, but neither Norton 360 nor Windows Defender/MSE liked the added company, so I got rid of it.
#2 can provide you with cable TV and phone service, all in a bundle. But at a minimum you have to have Internet service via an ISP.
Turn your toddlers onto Pingu on YouTube! My two year old is hooked and loves it. They are penguins in claymation like Rudolph and done by an international team so every child can understand. Their “speech” is not really any language.
