New York City police authorities are investigating a series of unprovoked physical attacks in public places on people who are Jewish, in the form of what is called "the knockout game."
The way the game is played, one of a number of young blacks decides to show that he can knock down some stranger on the streets, preferably with one punch, as they pass by. Often some other member of the group records the event, so that a video of that "achievement" is put on the Internet, to be celebrated.
The New York authorities describe a recent series of such attacks and, because Jews have been singled out in these attacks, are considering prosecuting these assaults as "hate crimes."
Many aspects of these crimes are extremely painful to think about, including the fact that responsible authorities in New York seem to have been caught by surprise, even though this "knockout game" has been played for years by young black gangs in other cities and other states, against people besides Jews — the victims being either whites in general or people of Asian ancestry.
Attacks of this sort have been rampant in St. Louis. But they have also occurred in Massachusetts, Wisconsin and elsewhere. In Illinois the game has often been called "Polar Bear Hunting" by the young thugs, presumably because the targets are white.
The main reason for many people's surprise is that the mainstream media have usually suppressed news about the "knockout game" or about other and larger forms of similar orchestrated racial violence in dozens of cities in every region of the country...

Do what I told a female friend to do. When you see a group of minority ‘youts’ go to the other side of the street; get off the elevator; go back into your office; lock your car door. Don’t give a light or a cigarette or 50 cents or directions - they are just sizing you up to decide if they’re gonna rob, rape or kill you, like a pack of feral predators, except that they attack for fun, not for survival. They don’t act hostile until the final moment when they attack.
Until this crap-’game’ is talked about on the 6 o’clock news, and the races are discussed, the country is going to hell.
Keep your heads up people. Situational awareness will save your life. Or perhaps the life of a loved one. Keep your powder dry and stay armed.
I’ve gently broached the subject with my wife, who doesn’t want to have to deal with the topic. Her respect for Sowell helped, in light of his recent articles on the topic.
The kids are too young for this heavy weight. If they asked, I’d tell them it was something that they should just let their parents carry for them.

NYC has a very short window of opportunity to deal with this specific case. De Blasio is an adherent of Critical Race Theory, which essentially condones attacks like this as recompense for generations of oppression.
But that’s just the micro sense. In the macro, once De Blasio is sworn in, fires Ray Kelly and neuters the NYPD there’s going to be an epidemic of knockout game attacks.
Is I read the statistics about 58 million people in the usa are on welfare, food stamps or both. roughly 40% of these are black so about 23 million blacks are on some sort of "government" (read fellow Americans) assistance. blacks are 12.7% of the total population. The US populations is about 314 million, so that means that there are approximately 40 million blacks in the US. This works out to 57% of the black population uses the power of government to rob their fellow citizens rather than working for a living. So yes you're right they're going to be mighty unhappy if the goose gets killed, but they're not susceptible to log or reason, having been told repeatedly by the media, the government and the politicians that the reason they live on welfare is not their fault, but the fault of whitey.
They're addicted to the lazy lifestyle, and what to we all know about addicts? Among other things nothing is EVER their own fault.

But the targeting of another historically oppressed demographic makes it politically untenable to NOT pursue the hate crime angle.

This I don’t understand. Why are Jews a protected class in Manhattan. If Jews were singled out in Ohio, Ok, I get it.
But the Jew is near majority in Manhattan. If anything, in Manhattan it is the white who should be accorded minority status.
Then maybe New Yorkers will get what they've been voting and asking for.
Back when I was a kid, I didn’t know any better. It was late sixties, still really in the civil rights era.
Two black youths approached me and wanted some money. I told them “no”. They called me a racist and walked away.
don’t know if I would have the guts to do that toady, unless I was armed. But back then, racial entitlement probably wasn’t as strong.

And another thing. Is it a ‘hate crime’ only if they target non-christians?
