Day 4 of shutdown: Vets are going to need wire cutters to visit WWII memorial.
The fences/barricades were not wired shut when I was here on Tuesday.

Yes. A long tube with explosives along the length of it so you can feed it through barbed wire or other barrycades. Wikipedia said they could be up to 50 feet long in 5 foot sections.

This is the memorial honoring the generation of veterans willing to stand on the front lines of pillboxes facing down Nazi gunners at Normandy. I think it will probably take more than a couple of twist ties to stop them.
I hope Barack Obama and every single person who worships him dies of malignant and agonizing cancer. And I hope that right before they die, they ask if they can have mercy and forgiveness. And I can’t wait to say “No. No you can’t.”

I saw that pic on Twitter. Thanks for getting a thread up. I guess I misread that the exercise of First Amendment rights would not be infringed at the monuments and memorials.
There are Honor Flights scheduled for today and tomorrow.
The point of the wire is so that they can charge anybody cutting it with vandalism and damaging federal property.
All these barrycades in parks did not exist in the last shutdown, the Feds just chose to forego revenue and where possible parks were open.
It’s an opportunity. Protest at the park Barrycades and make them bring in more law enforcement to manage it. Coopt the police and encourage them to call in sick rather than support the administration. Use Obama masks for fun.
