MSNBC host Chris Matthews said Tuesday that President Obama has finally met his match in Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas).
Yes, the same person he has referred to as a political “terrorist” and compared to notorious Nazi sympathizer Father Coughlin.
Matthews’ comments were made shortly after he referred to the Texas senator’s Obamacare defund strategy as “brilliant.”
“I think Ted Cruz is brilliant,” Matthews said Tuesday morning during a discussion on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.”
“The president has met his match in this guy. He set this thing up months ago with no budget agreement, therefore no appropriations, therefore the government would be completely exposed this morning, at midnight last night, to completely shut down. He knows what he’s doing,” he adds.
The MSNBC host added that one thing in particular made Cruz’s strategy “brilliant”: Going after Obamacare.
“It’s about the baby, Obama’s baby,” Matthews said, referring to President Obama’s landmark health care overhaul. “You can’t cut the baby in half.”

Well, we DO KNOW the academic records and birth origins of Ted Cruz. We don´t know anything about the other.

yep, Rubio shot his wad on what he thought would endear himself to a hispanic demographic... instead of being a conservatives, he bought into DC politics and tried to play their game... kind’a like a Christian becoming a drunk so as to convert a drunk, it don’t work. To state that obama has met his match is to imply that obama has excelled in a particular field and that he has finally met someone who is his equal or better. Only problem with that is, I can’t think of any particular field in which obama has excelled...except maybe community organizing and stirring up class and group hatred.

matthews has used this twisted infant imagery when referring to ACA since the very early days of the thing. it's sick, it's perverted, and it betrays a genuinely deranged mindset.

One of the things I used to tell my engineers (~35) when I was working full time was that he or she could accomplish great things if they believed in what they did AND if they were not solely concentrated on taking credit for it.
Cruz believes, and I believe he is not only willing to NOT take credit for success, but IS willing to take on the hardship and/or consequences.
In this regard, we have damned pitiful few people like this on our side in the Congress - either side.
