Take heart viewer, because AMC is here to help with your binging needs.

Starting Tuesday at 8 p.m. with the very first episode that originaly aired Jan. 20, 2008, the cable network will screen every instalment of the Emmy-winning series in an ultra-marathon that will culminate in the 75-minute finale airing Sunday night.

Already riding high on fan love, the series about a high-school chemistry teacher Walter White (Bryan Cranston) who enters the drug trade to pay for his cancer treatment has drawn record ratings and this past Sunday walked away with the Emmy for best series.

Along with taking the top award, actress Anna Gunn also won an Emmy for outstanding supporting acting in a drama series for her portrayal as White’s wife, Skyler.

AMC's decision to air the "Countdown to the Finale" binge-fest coincides with the onine marathoning of all 234 episodes of Comedy Central's "South Park." The massive four-day celebration of all things Eric, Kyle, Stan and Kenny can be viewed at SouthParkMarathon.com. It began Sept. 21, and will continue up to the Season 17 premiere Wednesday at 10 p.m. ET/PT.

AMC will air the first four seasons of "Breaking Bad" through Friday, Sept. 27. The marathon will then pick up with episodes from the current fifth season Sept. 28 at 11 p.m. and continue through the night and day leading up to the 75-minute series finale.

It’s good to start. It gets better and better. This season has been the best of the series. It’s going out at it’s highest point.

Enjoy!

The marathon starts Wed 9/25 at 8pm Eastern. Not Tuesday.

I'm not so sure.. The article stated TONIGHT plus when I checked my TV menu for AMC for 8 tonight, it said "To Be Announced."

Sneak Preview?

No doubt S5 has been outstanding. I stopped watching much in S2 due to the side trip in magical realism. Started watching again in S4. The Fring death scene is one for the ages.

We’re gonna have a whole lotta bodies on our hands Sunday night. Kinda thinking it would work best as a 2-hour finale. 90 mins at least.

Someone needs to write a boot: Todd Alquist’s Guide To Women.

“Its not personal”

“I just think we work together good. We make a good team. It’s kind of mutually good.”

I didn’t tune in until late but have been able to pick up some of the back hours via re-runs.

The show had some real quirky dark humor in the early years, but as it went on, the show got darker and darker in tone.

I’ve never seen anything quite like it on regular non-premium TV

TCM is where I watch old movies. I gave up on AMC when they started adding commercials.

One of the best shows ever, i.e., fantastic acting and gripping drama.

Let me summarize half of the posts for those who do not wish to read this entire thread:

“I have never watched this show.”
“Its about drugs, who would waste their time.”
“I dropped cable and don’t watch TV”
“Its full of commericals, I won’t watch it.”
“Its a left wing conspirace.”
“It is based in New Mexico, it contains no ‘American Values.”
“I wish it was 1950 again.”

Did I get them all?

I think you are missing the point of the show. It does not glorify drugs or the people who make money off their sale.
If you watch it you will see it does just the opposite.
Even the title states this. It takes a character who is a well loved nice guy and makes him into a murdering monster, who only cares about the financial gain. It totally destroys his life and family. It is a modern day Greek tragedy similar to Oedipus Rex

I liked it better when it was called "The Godfather."

That story outline and theme has deep resonances in western culture. It’s why The Godfather and stories like this are so enduring (Citizen Kane is very similar as well).

I wouldn't say it glorifies drugs. Everyone on the show is dysfunctional. All the families are dysfunctional. One (reasonably good) reason not to watch the show is that it is — despite occasional humor — quite dark and depressing. These are messed up people living sad and desperate lives.

It's depressing that this very successful show is about sad and desperate people.
