(Vanity) This old Republican has had it...
September 3, 2013 | Self

I finally had enough! We've finally gotten to a one party system in Washington as the republicans have completely lost any relevance. If you stand for nothing you stand for everything.

Here's my email to the RNC...

'Please remove me from all RNC mailings. The Republican party has become indistinguishable from the Dems and insider backscratching seems to be the name of the game rather than standing on conservative principles. I will be ending my party affiliation on my next trip to the county courthouse."

I reached that point about a year prior to the last elections.

Your only other option is to quit voting altogether. Unless you can find races in which conservatives are running as Independents? I guess you could “join” one of the fringe parties like the “Constitutional” party or the “Green” Party or the Libertarian Party, so technically speaking, you aren’t necessarily “trapped”, just marginalized.
We'll only be "marginalized" as long as there are enough mindless drones who continue to vote GOP because they believe it when someome says something stupid like "So you gonna vote for baby killing Democrats? Your only other option is to quit voting altogether."

Amen!! I am SO with you. Same here in CA. The GOP has pushed itself to irrelevancy. And that is not hyperbole. The Dems have a super majority here that they will keep, probably forever with our major change in demographics.

The GOP is dead in some states and isn’t coming back. It’s just a matter of time nationwide.

Me too. Still gagging today on McCain and Graham running point for Obmam on Syria. Even my Rep Mike Rogers is making noise like he supports this insanity!

I gave up on them on 11.06.2012.

Not one of them stood up and challenged the fiasco of the election or called the Dems out on all the cheating.

There is a very short list of folks who tried to have The Kenyan’s eligibility investigated - Sheriff Joe; Donald Trump; Lt.Col.Lakin and Orly Taiz.

Have not even been on this site since election night.

The GOP has no back bone.

Exactly. The GOP MAY, if all the winds blow right, get 51 seats in the Senate. However, in 2016 when Hildabeast probably runs, the BEST the GOP can expect is to lose 6-10 Senate seats. And with demographics changing all over America ... I’m just glad I’m old and won’t be here to see the disaster.

I vote for conservatives.

Usually, they are Republicans.

But if no conservatives are on offer, I write in “Bullwinkle”.

Term limits would probably be advisable.

There’s so much wrong with this system, I honestly wouldn’t know where to start. I saw this coming after 2008, i.e., that the US was morphing into a one party system which will become ever more Fascist and socialistic.

On a national level, the political is actually going the same way as the cities. Owned, operated and controlled by the Dem Mobsters. By the same token, we’re seeing more and more secessionist sentiment arising across the land.

Ultimately of course, the country will become to resemble Detroit. Bankrupt. The majority of the population is already morally bankrupt.

The ptb will consider constitutional conservatives dropping out a real plus to supporting Obama's warmongering. Then they won't have to be worried about being primaried.

Advice to all: STAY IN THE PARTY FOR NOW. You get to vote against these disgusting traitors in the primaries that way.

I think in most states, Independent or Unenrolled are the only allowable choices.

In states where there are official Libertarian or Conservative parties, I think that would work too.

The point is to show a mass Exodus away from the Republicans, and that the movement is not towards the left.

Soapbox. Ballot Box. Jury Box. Cartridge Box.

In that order...

Case closed.

Realistically speaking, we wrote off 2016 when we failed to revolt to a third party, on the night Romney became the nominee. We ceded to the GOP, embolden them and re-enforced their methodology for retaining their power, at minimum through ‘16.

Our favorite sons, and daughters, are still swimming in the shark tank, squandering the gains forged by the original tea party, who were fiscal conservatives.

Fiscal conservatism resonated and could have, over the course of time, opened the door to addressing the behemoth size of government, which is guilty of endorsing all the social ills we face today. Using the fiscal approach as the engine could have been the key. We squandered that too.

Now we are left calling name against the other side waving pitch forks.

Give me a third party please, with something deeper than a clever sound bite and a PAC behind their name. Please.

I don't agree, unless you are in a state where you must be a registered Republican in advance of the primary. If that's the case, then stay registered for now, but change your registration after the primary, unless the conservative candidate won.

Term Limits would be a good start.
I couldn't agree more.
And for all those who claim that we can "term limit" via the ballot box, I say, what's good enough for the presidency, is good enough for the two houses of congress.

Ended mine last year.

Republicans no longer exist.

I await a conservative party...the Tea Party folks appear to be on the correct route.

Oh yeah, and Sarah Palin would have to be dead for years before she could even approach the epic idiotness of the Obamadork/felon/muslim.

I don’t want to stand before God someday and explain to him that I voted for the GOP-e because they wanted to murder the unborn, enforce the homosexual agenda, destroy Christians’ religious freedom, encourage race-baiting, placate feminists, discriminate against the male gender, reward the slothful, excuse violent thugs, raid the public’s treasury, scapegoat the righteous, support Islamic terrorists, and fund the slaughter of Christians in the Islamic world, but they wanted to do it at only 90% of the rate the Democrats wanted.

I think that's true. Now, I supported someone else in the primary, but in the general, I supported Romney. I wouldn't do that again. Conservatives keep voting for the lesser of two evils and this works against any major political party actually caring what we think. They will give us Dole, McCain, Romney, or any assorted Bush because they think we'll toe the line and cast our vote for the party.

None of that changes until we walk away. And a lot of freepers will get huffy and say "So -- you're voting for Hillary, then???"

Rolls right off my back. I'm not the one who broke the GOP. The good folks who will vote for anyone at all with an R after their name -- those are the folks who broke the GOP and they are the reason Hillary has an excellent shot at the presidency.
