ON PRAYER
The Sacred Scriptures urge us to pray always. That seems impossible at first sight; you can't spend your life on your knees. But people pray in many ways. Physical positions and movements, the lotus position for Buddhists, kneeling and folding hands for many Christian faith groups, are prayer. Any attention paid to God is prayer. Whether or not any words are spoken, the actions themselves express awareness of, and communication with, God. As St. Teresa of Avila put it, way back in the 16th century, "For though we are always in the presence of God, it seems to me that those who practice prayer are especially so, because they can see all the time that God is looking at them; whereas others may be in the Lord's presence for several days without ever remembering that God can see them." Good evening, Sand....just back from taking my Mom to the Credit Union. She had to sign in person to get my sister on her account. I think this completes everything on the list while her out-of-state kids are here.
Did you have a restful day? Any shop time?
A Blessed Lord’s Day to you and yours.

They are for a bit more. We take granddaughter to the airport about 7:30...then my TX brother and wife about 10pm.
He has been busy all day doing guy things (before Texas he was a full-time contractor...now part time for his church). He sprayed both lawns for weeds, dug out a recalcitrant raspberry bush, reconnected multiple pieces of a downspout, and changed all the “self-closing” hinges on the kitchen cabinets that have died of old age. He remodeled the kitchen years ago. The best thing is he saw things that needed doing and just did them. He and my Mom have had past issues, but it has been a good visit. He had a really bad time yesterday at the service.
My sister leaves Monday morning. My other brother and his wife are in and out and gone Tuesday when he goes back to the slope for work, and wife back to TN.

It sounds like your TX brother did yeoman work during his stay. It's great to have someone in the family with those skills.
We're in the midst of construction at Castle MacNessa. We're replacing most of the flooring in the entire house and repairing stuff that has been broken - we're apparently tough on a house. :)

PRAYER FOR OUR COUNTRY
O my Jesus, You said, "verily I say to you, whatsoever you shall ask the Father in My name, He will give it to you." Behold, in your name I humbly ask our Heavenly Father to protect every man, woman, and child in our great nation from those who want to delete your name from our society, i.e. on our money, in our courts, and in our schools. Protect us from plans of destruction from which our enemies have plotted.
You, Heavenly Father, are the real foundation of our nation. I thank you for making me a citizen of this land of freedom and unlimited opportunity...which are the results of its Christian base.
Please surround and protect us, and our military with Your love and mercy...in Jesus' name.

WE THE PEOPLE OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA
"CONGRESS SHALL MAKE no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. "
OUR FOUNDING FATHERS secured this Essential Freedom against overwhelming odds through great adversity, securing it first with the blood of our Patriots shed in the War of the Revolution, then through the course of intense and extended debate, leading finally to the adoption of the Bill of Rights.
THIS CHERISHED FREEDOM is under attack now, not only by the media, not only by academia, but by the Executive Branch of the United States Government itself. The President, the Departments of Justice and State, and the Internal Revenue Service, have all abdicated their sworn duty to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic. They have instead, with full knowledge of the enormity of their acts, systematically betrayed the American People in repeated transgressions, malfeasances, and usurpations, and in so doing have emerged as our foremost domestic enemy in what will be the defining Constitutional struggle of our times, perhaps of our National History.
WE ARE CALLED at this crucial moment to bear Witness to the Truth of God, to uphold and to defend this vital, First Freedom and all Freedoms that derive from it. Without Freedom of Religion, Freedom of Speech, Freedom of the Press, Freedom of Association, and the Right to Petition our Government for redress of grievances, would there remain any substantive Freedoms for us to enjoy?

Amazing Grace (Click)
By John Newton
Amazing grace! How sweet the sound That saved a wretch like me! I once was lost, but now am found; Was blind, but now I see. . Twas grace that taught my heart to fear, And grace my fears relieved; How precious did that grace appear The hour I first believed! . Through many dangers, toils and snares, I have already come; Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far, And grace will lead me home. . The Lord has promised good to me, His Word my hope secures; He will my Shield and Portion be, As long as life endures. . Yea, when this flesh and heart shall fail, And mortal life shall cease, I shall possess, within the veil, A life of joy and peace. . The earth shall soon dissolve like snow, The sun forbear to shine; But God, Who called me here below, Will be forever mine. . When weve been there ten thousand years, Bright shining as the sun, Weve no less days to sing Gods praise Than when wed first begun.

DEAR LORD, who suffered torment, agony, and death upon the Cross to free our souls from the chains of iniquity, protect and defend our troops. Guide them in the performance of their duties. Strengthen them to endure hardship, danger and deprivation in Your service. Let their efforts free the people of Iraq and Afghanistan from the chains of terror and slavery, foster a lasting peace in the region, and bring all to a greater share in Your Mercy.
Amen. |

He did do yeoman work....and those skills are priceless.
Age is fighting me...I have been able to do lots of these things, but creeping age and joints that don’t want to do their full jobs hinder. LOL!
Good luck on all your projects.
