Libya was a Russian client state so whatever surface to air they had in theater was most likely older Russian. We never lost anything when providing air cover to the rebels so I doubt the “big gun” is older Russian surface to air. I’m not not playing the threat these weapons could pose to civilian aircraft. I just don’t see the surface to air as being the reason so many CIA were in Libya.
Too bad a 17 year old black criminal in a hoodie didn’t get killed at the Benghazi embassy. The media would be reporting the stroy 24/7....

I agree. This is about Saddam Husein’s WMD’s.
After the Soviet Union fell, we bought quite a few USSR nuclear bombs for cash (several hundred million $ each)and disarmed them at Oak Ridge.
I think (pure speculation) that we were buying the Iraqi WMD’s from Syrian rebels in exchange for various armaments and intelligence reports.
If the WMD angle is true, GWB was fully justified in invading Iraq. The Democrats could not tolerate this news getting out.
The monthly polygraphs, name changing, etc. is pretty extreme. Just running guns would not be enough to cause this reaction.
I have no specific knowledge to verify all of this, but it is my hunch from reading FR since 1998.
Jake Tapper has been awfully quiet over on Twitter since this news came out on CNN. Wonder IF he has been summoned to the White House for his beat down to keep quiet?

Obama is sending weapons to Al Qaeda.
Why are there no Congressional hearings? Because the GOP also favors sending weapons to Al Qaeda.
Because one of Putin’s passenger planes had two missiles fired at it a couple months ago flying over Syria.
What if some of our classified weapons are being smuggled to them under the pretense that it is just old outdated stuff?
I think this is something bigger than old out of date Russian weapons.

I suspect because some CIA agents are so torn between following orders and their patriotism that they are seriously considering becoming whistle blowers and that scares obumbler.
Read into the night about that Chicago Street gang connected to JJ and the neighborhood O represented. They are still responsible for many of the murders going down in Chicago and apparently have connections with both MB and al Quida.
In earlier reading thought the gun running was from here to Libya But they were/are it appears wanting the big guns here. They already have/had targets picked out.

Glad to know I am not the only one...lol. Something stunk to high heaven during Iraq war and the WMD story and still does. I also seem to remember Kerry, Pelosi and other dem operatives visiting Assad a whole lot during that time and singing his praises. Hmmmm......
