Today, July 11th, is DAY #23 (of 5th week) State of Florida V. George Zimmerman case.
Yesterday the defense rested its case. A legal analysis via Professor Jacobson HERE.
From my perspective the entire case ended, as expected, early in the day yesterday when Judge Nelson gave George Zimmerman his personal Platinum Express DCA Acquittal Card. The ruling, and more importantly the legal determination she used on the ruling, regarding the Trayvon Martin phone evidence was an immediate Nuclear DCA option. Nelson essentially ruled against admissibility based on authentication. She could have kept it out under other legal reasoning, but no, she chose the one without the slightest chance of being upheld by a District Court of Appeals. IMHO this was intentional and aligns itself with the way she has ruled during the pre-trial discovery phase, and during the case itself. Shes a rigid ideologue, but shes not stupid this was intentional.
By ruling the phone records (texts and pics from Trayvon) cannot be authenticated to have originated by the specific personage of Trayvon Martin just gave the dismissal of the case to George Zimmerman with a bow on it.
As it was carefully explained to me, the phone is like a bucket. The data inside the phone is like marbles in a bucket. Some marbles from calls, others from pictures, others from texts, etc. The State brought the bucket into court and validated the bucket contents with their own witness from the phone company Both the State and the defense then began arguing their case around the phone call marbles in the bucket Primarily with Rachel Jeantel. But no-one challenged the bucket itself. The State authenticated the bucket and the content of the bucket during the introduction.
The defense picks up the same bucket the state hands them, and now begins to use the contents texts and pictures and then Nelson rules the bucket itself cannot be authenticated. It doesnt work that way.
If the state authenticates evidence, it cannot be divided and only authentic when the state holds it, but not the defense. Flawed logic ABSOLUTELY positioned to give such a prejudicial outcome, the appeal would result in dismissal, not retrial. Nelson gave the case away to George Zimmerman.
She could have ruled on relevance, admissibility, or other factors but she chose the one destined to fail, authentication. She gave it away.
In other news, people are catching on to the Eric Holder, Department of Justice, Civil Rights Division, Community Relations Service being the actual puppeteers behind the entire construct of the false case. To them we say welcome to the party pal.
Local Agencies Prepping For Potential Violence After Zimmerman Trial

Pray for Black America to Wake Up
I hope it is too! Have a lovely trip away from the madness...
That is the funniest post on this thread! I laughed.
>> Bernie is more worked up than he should be...nothing calm and confident here. He is the one with ill will and hate.
That describes the entire prosecution team over two whole weeks. You can see, hear, and smell the flopsweat from a thousand miles away!
I just wonder if this “dream team” is like this on EVERY trial, or if this one’s special because they have such a weak case.
Right...He also said it was his son’s voice....after saying it was not his son’s voice.
po’d and relieved when they see they made the right choice to aquit.
notice I slapped horse race breath repeatedly yet he never said a word back
I bet tape of that screeching, incoherent closing will be
shown in law schools for years to come of how NOT to present
a closing argument.
What a laughing stock that man is.
Sure.... good idea. However, the riot schedule is not dependent on the verdict. This rioting has been planned for months, and schedules are schedules. The logistics for food, transportation, housing are complicated and a great deal of money is involved.
Best bet is be prepared for rioting starting this weekend, no matter what happens with this trial.

Found out when she was grazing?
I know that the THC was never actually discussed in front of the jury, but - - - Was it entered into evidence? Any chance it could appear in the jury room, as they are poring over evidence? Any chance they could look at the autopsy report, and see the toxicology report included with it?
Thanks for your well considered thoughts.
Best,
R.
You’re welcome — thanks to all who filled it
>> What’s the sense in carrying a gun if I can’t defend myself?
>>This case goes to the heart of the Constitution and to all the rights that EACH of us is entitled.
You nailed that one. Well said.
I think that is the reason I have spent (far too much!) time following this one. It’s much more than just sensational “reality teevee”. This trial gets at the heart of our constitutionally guaranteed rights vs. an out of control government machine that will stop at nothing to control our lives.
Judge Nelson can be found at the buffet and the Golden Wet Grass and Graze Corral
Yes, but those are just facts, and that has no place in the State's case.
The most glaring thing is you expect a prosecutor to say “This is exactly what happened, and the evidence proves that to you”. Instead, he is mocking Zimmerman and asking about why TM had no blood on his hands. BUT he never said that’s because GZ beat up TM, or GZ had his gun out and shot from the beginning, or GZ faked his wounds.
It’s just astounding and all because of course they can’t deal with the fact Zimmerman got beat up.
So they have no coherent story of what exactly Zimmerman did.
i did tell her if someone pounded by head for 45 seconds that i am.Shooting thier ass.
