Dr. Helen Smith: American society has become anti-male. Men are sensing the backlash and are consciously and unconsciously going "on strike." They are dropping out of college, leaving the workforce and avoiding marriage and fatherhood at alarming rates. The trend is so pronounced that a number of books have been written about this "man-child" phenomenon, concluding that men have taken a vacation from responsibility simply because they can. But why should men participate in a system that seems to be increasingly stacked against them?
As Men on Strike demonstrates, men aren't dropping out because they are stuck in arrested development. They are instead acting rationally in response to the lack of incentives society offers them to be responsible fathers, husbands and providers. In addition, men are going on strike, either consciously or unconsciously, because they do not want to be injured by the myriad of laws, attitudes and hostility against them for the crime of happening to be male in the twenty-first century. Men are starting to fight back against the backlash. Men on Strike explains their battle cry.

None of these guys were vengeful. And, when you have kids and you’re the sole provider, you can’t end up in jail. I suspect revenge wouldn’t have done anything to salve their wounds. (All of them eventually ended up with better women.)
She’s on something. Probably meth. Sorry for you. I’ve been there. Watched my ex turn into something horrible all because her sister introduced here to meth....and the meth introduced her to so many other horrible things.

My son’s ex was a really nice girl; they had 2 kids and at first she was a really good mom. Then something happened with her and as soon as my son walked in the door from work, she would hand him the kids and leave for all or most of the night. After their separation he left the kids with her because she said she wanted them, but ended up getting custody because she got messed up with losers and couldn’t stay sober.
I had a roommate who was attempting to divorce her spouse, you think a normal divorce is messy?
I do not know one man over 40 who has been laid-off (and replaced by a 25-year-old) and then found another full-time job. Not. One. This can certainly be a reason for the "ah, screw it" attitude.

Family Court (actually Anti-Family Court) is extremely hostile to men. Women get custody and about half of the man’s disposable income in child support under threat of jail time.
Marry a woman from overseas and get a pre-nup if you marry anyone from anywhere.

The exchange was one your (very attractive) secretary was likely well familiar with—though not from that guy. Likely too she has parried many lame advances just like that one. Parrying lame advances goes with the job of being (very attractive)
From your description of the incident, she was just trying to flatter you. Your post was just a brag.
Which is ok.
But somehow, I felt sorry for the guy.
It takes two (or half a dozen) to tango. One guy I know of was once married but was out with his pg girlfriend while his wife was giving birth to their son. Wife filed for divorce. He breaks up with the first pg girlfriend and gets engaged to a second girlfriend who is raising the son by the ex-wife because he's out with a third girlfriend who may or may not be pg. Fiance called off wedding but it's now back on.
Except the White Face or Hereford is a beef cattle breed. He'll get a lot less milk from that one. Should have picked a Holstein, Jersey or Guernsey.
Now that you mention it, the three H1-Bs who replaced me were all 25 somethings...
Little things do add up. Hollywood and the like fuel the general mindset of the time. Like one of those weight loss commercials where the woman and older guy talk about their success with the program and at the end she holds up the bikini and he says “you win” and she says “we always do” or something like that. Many young adult women seem to have this princess attitude. Somebody up above mentioned introverted nerds. Seems guys deride the sluts who will sleep with anyone yet they wont give the potential good girls a chance.
Damn right and worth repeating . . . over and over and over again.

I think women read these fairytales with happily ever after endings. They’re inculcated with the prince charming view that somehow marriage is an end in itself and they will be blissfully happy. But it’s all work. They didn’t sign up for work. They wanted happily ever after. So, they go looking for it. It will take years before they realize they had it and blew it.
The null hypothesis of the divorce court system in this country is "Women good, men bad."
