A Texas high school silenced its Valedictorians microphone during his speech when he diverted from his pre-approved remarks and instead spoke about the Constitution.

Typical liberal moves. If you don’t like what you are hearing you silence it. They want to tell you how they want things and ban or silence what they don’t like. Terrible.
This is not a blog.
The person who silenced the mic. should be fired. I do not care what the rules are. If we lack the courage to break stupid rules like these, it will be absolutely be the end of this country. We will get what we deserve and our children will spit on our grave for it.
I think anyone in the audience can bring suit. The right to “Hear” what someone is saying is covered under the First Amendment. I forget the complete Supremem Court cite...Va. Pharmacy v. something.
The PC people that silence the patriots who speak about the Constitution will wish they hadn’t once those onstitutional rights have been stripped. It’s coming.
Fine, “forum”. Happy now?
I am not kidding this time... People need to be horsewhipped over this crap.
it’s not just public schools. There is a very big push to turn Texas back into a blue state. Many parts of it already are. I lived in San Antonio for 6 years and honestly am happy to be gone (except for missing fabulous TexMex) Castro is doing his best to turn the city of the Alamo into a liberal mecca of dependency that can be counted on for democratic votes.
Would have been way cool if somebody in the crowd tossed him a big honking bullhorn megaphone.
Amen. We have allowed the left to define the debate for far too long. They have been far to successful in overreaching and seeing us meet them “midway.”
Amen, Johnny.
If he had wanted to speak on diversity or tolerance then I’m sure he would have been praised by school officials and the volume on the mic turned up.
If I were him I would have used the opportunity to talk much much louder after they turned the mic off to show how what they were doing is precisely what the Constitution forbids.
The government cannot hand someone a mic and then turn it off based on content or viewpoint discrimination.
I’m sick of the “rules are rules” crowd. No! The Constitution IS THE RULES when it comes to government conduct towards the citizens that its power is derived from. Screw these people! I would sue their ass in a heartbeat if they did this to my son.
Only if he went off in such a way as to breech the peace or other unprotected “speech” should they be able to do this.
Yeah, because rules are more important than principles.
In the sixties "they" were afraid of the Abbie Hoffman's and the black raised fist salute ... today, it is conceivable Achmed calling for the triggering of the bombs that are under the gowns.
But in fairness to your comment .. I would like all speeches to be whqatever the valedictorian wants to say ... he/she didn't GET to be Valedictorian by being a radical and stupid.
Well so much for Texas being the greatest state to move to.
Any well run place (usually leaning right) will be prosperous, drawing in many from the poorly run places (i.e. California) who hope to do well...problem is, the newcomers bring in their old style politics (which caused the problem in the first place), infecting the new place with the old crap.
Don’t mess with Texas.
Obviously the school powers that be understand neither the Constitution nor its First Amendment.
Went to my brothers college grad and remember the speaker glorifying liberalism...guess that’s the only speech ok in academia. A student can’t mention how God and the Constitution influenced life.
Sad!
