(Newser) The Boy Scouts of America's decision last month to allow gay members was made with the blessings of many churches and religious groupsbut not all of them. And here's a pretty significant opponent: The Southern Baptist Convention, the largest Protestant denomination in America with 45,000 congregations and 16 million members, says it will now urge its followers to leave the Scouts, reports CNN. The Boy Scouts says Baptist churches currently sponsor nearly 4,000 units, containing more than 100,000 kids.
The Southern Baptist Convention will vote on a resolution to disaffiliate with the Scouts this month, and a spokesperson says he expects 99% of people to vote in support of it. "Southern Baptists are going to be leaving the Boy Scouts en masse," he says.

Yeah, the new queer policy goes into effect this January.
I don't blame your friends for leaving the BSA, as I would encourage anyone else out there to do the same.

They didn’t have survival skills in general but, our church thought they should include skills in their curriculum.
Not even close to Baby Sitters of Amerika but, they did do some.
I taught others how to start fires when we camping on an AWANA expedition.
I had already been in BSA and had many of the skills taught mastered.

My grandsons' parish has pulled their troop out of BSA. Don't know exactly what they're going to do. It will take some effort to replicate the BSA infrastructure: camps, merit badges, ranks, etc., etc. But it's worth doing.

They need to understand that if they go and form another group, say “Heritage Scouts” or something,
that the left and homos will attack them as well.

I don't like the co-ed nature of AWANAs. There needs to be a separate org for boys. Boys are different than girls - to contend otherwise is a decidedly liberal position.

the majority if Christian churches fully support homosexuality and gay marriage, many have homosexual clergy and youth workers, and some even living with their partners

The problem is that the best separate organization for boys just recently bowed to the god of this world and gave in to homosexuality. Of course, judging from recent activity in gay pride groups, it wasn’t nearly enough for them. Boy Scouts leadership should have learned right away that it was the wrong decision, but that won’t happen.

Maybe some day you can have a rematch and lose on purpose. But Bonnie isn’t likely to be so bonnie by this time, I imagine.

Uh, NO.

How can any Church or religion be a part of subjecting children to the perversion of homosexuality?
