The White House ✔ @whitehouse
Unless you're a Native American, you came from someplace else. Share your family's story: http://at.wh.gov/kQgOt #ImmigrationNation
When my ancestors came here.. they fought for the North in the Civil War... they didn’t demand welfare.
This is deeply offensive. Putting both people who were born here and people who immigrated here LEGALLY in the same camp as illegals, set apart from Native Americans, is outrageous. ILLEGAL ALIENS ARE CRIMINALS!
They are here because they broke our laws, they insulted our nation. The people whose ancestors go back generations are here because they FOUGHT for this land, and defeated the Native Americans, and those who immigrated here legally are here because they FOLLOWED and RESPECTED the laws of those victors.
This admin makes me want to puke.
The ancestors of "Native Americans" came from someplace else, as well. But we all (originally) climbed off from Noah's Ark.
That is a concept entirely too deep from somebody living large in the White Hut who earned his spurs smoking up the Choom Wagon.
Trouble is most Americans have no clue how this country was founded in any respect...they are no longer taught this in our schools...therefore they easily swallow this administrations every syllable without question.
There is a difference between “illegal aliens” and “Immigrants”...so it’s a none arguement.
when you buy land, or take it in war, it becomes your land.
white colonists were not the only oes that broke treaties.
Well, having been born here, I am a native American. My grandparents were all Jews from eastern Europe.
Obviously, if you were not born here, you’re from somewhere else.
So what is the point the WH is making?
No the so called “Native Americans” came from someplace else, too...
No lollypop for you...
The thing is, dumbo, your pet illegal aliens came from someplace else, uninvited, without prior permission...
in other words ILLEGALLY ...they broke the law and continue to break the law...
My forebears were invited by the owners of this land to come here...
First the Dutch, and then the English...
I have no illegal alien ancestors...
1623/4 My Huguenot/Walloons on the New Netherland to NYC had permission fron the Dutch crown to come here..
1630 My Suffolk family came to English colony, MASS with Gov Winthrop..
1645 My Dutch supercargo on a ship belonging to the Dutch West India Company had permission to stay and settle in the Dutch colony, New Netherland...(later New York after 1664)
1680 The English crown sent my refugee Huguenot family here to their colony, New York
1710 Queen Anne of England sent my Palatine German family among 3,000 to the Livinston Manor area, across from Albany in her English colony..
1720 My Catholic Irish family came here from Ulster to the east bank of the Hudson River below Renssalaer indentured to Livingston, who was a rich land owner with the privilige to have “guest workers”
and so on...
I havent found one ancestor who broke into the country...
and my few families to New Zealand from 1850 on are similarly accounted for...all legally English crown and or Church of England sent new settlers...
I came here AFTER jumping through every required hoop and satisfying the immigration laws...
Both of the Obamas have been confused about American history...
Michelle has told some whoppers also...
Also just look at what the cultural impact of unlimited immigration was for the American Indians. Didn't work out so well for them.
Hey Obama, you POS. I was born here, you weren’t.
I can go back to the hospitals my children and grandchildren were born in
I was there for every birth... :)
Every building is within the borders of the United states...OR, SC, OH, TN...
gosh which hospital was Barry born in again ???
That is one of the fissures he keeps pounding wedges into.
Exactly.
Native refers to birth. Since I’m an American born here of American parents, that should make me a Native American.
And by the way, Zippy, those who you refer to as Native Americans arrived via Alaska from Asia.
You wold think Republicans would have learned to be wary of taking sides with Democrats
These people are so desperate that they'll stop at NOTHING to make the point that everyone "belongs here or has a 'Civil Right' to come here!"
Fortunately, for Obama, those that rely on People and Us magazines for "news," there's no hurdle to low that must be crossed.
We’re likely all Kenyans....
I would think from where your 12th generation ancestors left to get here would hardly factor in whether or not one is a native of the United States of America.
I am so sick of the “we are all immigrants” brainwashing. We are NOT all immigrants and many of us can trace our American roots back many generations.

The Mormons beat you to it. It’s called Ancestry.com and the census! LOL
IMO
Things that make a person an American:
1. Being born here of American parents or immigrating legally and being naturalized.
2. Making a positive contribution to American society. This means not expecting a free ride, not spending one’s life on welfare and other freebies funded by hardworking taxpayers.
3. Speaking English or making one’s best effort to learn English.
4. Embracing the American culture instead of expecting Americans to adapt to your foreign culture. Embracing the American culture instead of denigrating it or apologizing for it. (I’m not saying we are perfect or that there is no room for improvement. But I’m saying that if you’re ashamed of this country then you don’t belong here. You should go somewhere that you’re not ashamed of.)
And it would be a real plus if you
1. Had military service or had an immediate family member who served. Or at least supported our troops.
2. Prayed for our country.
3. At some point in your life, volunteered (unpaid) at some non-self-serving and non-political activity. (Scout leader, school trip chaperone, babysitter for someone in need, shovel the sidewalk of an elderly neighbor, tutor for a struggling student, ... )
4. Voted (once per election, then stopped after you died). It would be even better if you had some idea of what the candidates’ positions were on the major issues and you voted intelligently based on a thoughtful consideration of how those positions would affect the future of the country and not just based on what letter appeared after the candidates’ names, what race/gender/lifestyle they were, who the union boss told you to vote for, who promised you the most freebies taken from the pockets of others, or who your favorite celebrity was voting for.
