He doesn't get the attention of the Sunday talk shows, or Washington's political elite, but the Midwest's dragon slayer, Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, is emerging in some Republican circles as the surprising favorite to win the GOP nomination for president in 2016.
Untainted by scandal, far from Washington's voter-frustrating gridlock, and reinvigorated by his victory over foes who staged a recall vote, the conservative Walker is also viewed as the best candidate to sop up the Midwest white vote which, had Mitt Romney done better there, would have catapulted him into the Oval Office.
But the best part in the eyes of the University of Virginia's Larry Sabato: "If Walker were to become the Republican presidential nominee, Democrats will have helped it happen." That's because they drove the recent losing recall effort out of anger Walker was cracking down on public unions.

Ben Carson.
I’d like that too.
Not if the GOP elite have anything to do with it. It isn’t his turn, it’s Jeb’s.
Better ask Ben some more questions first!
I still have his Christmas card w/ family pic on my book shelf, in front of my computer.
I was not expecting that! Thought it was a very kind gesture and I will continue to support him.
He made it simple, plain and clear on what he intended to do when running. Once elected, he did exactly that.....and a “recall” effort was charged against him for it.
He got more votes from this “recall” than he did during his first run, lol. Still tickles me.
I'll bet the guy doesn't even have a tattoo. He is everything the freeloaders, hollywierd types, Marxists hate about America. The hate media will run day and night to destroy him
Note how they present Christie as “too moderate” when in actuality he is too damn liberal.
Go, Walker!!
:-)
” Not if the GOP elite have anything to do with it. It isnt his turn, its Jebs.”
No doubt. Might as well run Romney again, and make DAMN sure conservatives stay home again : )
On a note related to Walker, I found out that Wisconsin University has a VERY LARGE, hidden slush fund.

I like Walker.
Go, Walker!
Muahahahahaha, we’re stealing him...../eevil laughter......
Not if us folks that think right in IL can steal him first!! My God, we need a guy like him.
Which republican ‘circle’ might that be? I don’t hear that buzz from anyone I know, so who is in this circle of which one or two people speak?
Another loser is just fine with the Gutless Old Party hacks as long as all their legions of useless campaign advisors and consultants get their millions in rake-offs and they maintain control of the Party purse strings.
Those reasons you cite are precisely why the GOPe won’t support him!
Scott Walker would be excellent.
We’ll see how walker does in next years’ (re)election. If he wins and does well in that win there may be potential. But we shouldn’t be getting ahead of ourselves.
