Paris got on quite well with our cat Rorschach, who died a few years ago. A calico, and a wonderful cat. She was turned out by whoever owned her mother along with the rest of her siblings and my SIL asked if we would take her in.

Here is the newest Mascot of the USMC, still undergoing training:

His name will be Chesty, in honor of Lt. Gen. Lewis B. (Chesty) Puller, USMC.

The late Chesty, USMC Mascot

The Bulldog is the Mascot of the USMC because he embodies the concepts of ferocity in battle, unswerving loyalty to his comrades and to our Beloved Nation, and patience - slow to anger but, once aroused, unstoppable.

Just like this guy:

Indeed it would. Back in the late 70's, the papers were full of articles pondering the potential effect of what then seemed to be the impending new Ice Age. The Miami Herald ran alarmist articles on what would happen to South Florida tourism if the temperature dropped.

So much for that folderal!

Yes! Davy Crockett! I wore a Coonskin Cap as I disported myself over the wilds of Long Island, NY in 1955. What a time that was!

You're bringing back so many memories of my early childhood now. We lived in West Babylon, Suffolk County, NY then. My Dad bought me my first two-wheeler there - it was a purple bike from West Germany - can't remember the brand name, but it had an elephant on the front fender. What a time I had with that little bike! I taught myself to ride with no hands pretty quickly. I roved over a wide range - no 7 year old child today could have the freedom that I had then.

Davy Crockett was my favorite for a long time. The other side of the record was something about Mike Fink and keelboats.

It never stopped!

Good morning CMN ((HUGS))

That's the way it was with my granddaughter who had to watch Lion King or Aristocats over and over every time she was here. Couldn't get her interested in anything until she "discovered" something else. I'm surprised the VHS is still good. LOL
