Have you tried to buy ammo in the past sixty days? The ability of find any handgun ammunition is almost impossible unless you are willing to pay as much as twice the normal price. Certain rifle calibers, such as .223 Remington and 308 Winchester are selling for a $1 to $2 a round.
A twenty round box of 223 Remington was selling for about $8 a box two months ago. Now some types of 223 Remington are selling for $35 a box of twenty. This is pure manmade panic buying. I have been writing for over five years about the volatility of ammo availability and price, now the chickens have come home to roost.
This is not a natural, disaster driven crisis that makes the public go out and desperately seek guns and ammo because the world is coming to an end. This is purely a politically driven Bravo Sierra (BS) manmade panic buying problem.
However what it is, is an excellent training tool for those who continue to sit on the fence of personal protection and support of the Constitution. The bad guys under the Klingon Cloaking Devise of elected politicians (primarily Democrats) are after your firearms and more importantly your Constitutional rights under the 2nd Amendment. You may believe it is someone elses job to do all the heavy lifting in protecting you from evil.
If weakness is the basis you want to build your life and the safety of your family on so be it, but how dare you expect someone else to risk their life to rush in and save you because you refused to prepare.

I was not the one needing it, but thanks. I have had trouble finding ammo for mine but I finally found it by going to the upper pages. It seems that everyone goes to the lower pages and when those do not have what is needed, they just quit. Never give up. That is my motto when trying to find info.
I try to find suppliers that will take back orders and don’t jack up their prices. And I try to always have orders in the system well before I’m running low. My two Sons sure go thru the ammo. And now my Daughter wants to start shooting.
“Todays ammo crisis is not real, but there is no 22lr to be found and that is real.”
Not true, I bought a bulk brick of 525 rounds at Fin Feather and Fur in Ohio last weekend for $29.99. Though I had not seen any prior to that for quite some time.
Limit of one box per customer is in effect.
The gun culture is alive and well!!!
We don’t want to look at video of the ammo. We want the ammo!!!
I ran across some Federal Match grade on my lunch hour at my local gun/pawn establishment $7 for 50 rd. box.
I search for ammo every day and have a list in my favorites of every ammo seller on the web. I'm assuming you mean 22LR CCI Stingers. If you mean a different caliber than 22 LR, let me know. When I find some I'll send you a Freepmail. I'll send you a Freepmail now just to get you on my mail list.
You have to catch the ammo as soon as a company gets some and it's gone within one or two days. I managed to catch CheaperThanDirt when they got CCI 22 LR HP one day and ordered three boxes (there was a limit). By the next evening, they had none.
The main reasons are, it’s cheaper than the bigger rounds, it was easier to find than the bigger rounds, it’s a very effective round, and it’s good to stay current in handling, shooting, sighting, etc.
This is anecdotal...heard it from a guy at a benchrest shoot weekend before last.
At a gunshow in Circleville OH Jan 26-27 he reported that Homeland Security came in Friday evening before the show started and bought all of the ammo from all vendors. Supposedly they spent $80k to buy every round in the place.
Does anyone know how to confirm this?
I just found 2 100 round boxes of Mini Mag 22 ammo in my house, that kind of made me happy, they must be decades old but they should be alright.
Magic 8-Ball sez: "Very Doubtful".
I have one of these: http://www.pyramydair.com/s/m/Benjamin_Trail_NP_Nitro_Piston_air_rifle_combo/2049 (click on the .22 specs.) I can get 500rds of 22cal pellets for $8, hollow point. If I want the Devastators it’s the same price but you only get 175.
This was the first 22 I’ve seen in weeks. It stayed right there on the shelf too.
I agree, and as I said it is anecdotal. I don’t really know the guy who told me that...sounds like tinfoil hat stuff.
I scored on some Remington .22LR last night at walley world. 3 box limit which for me 999 rounds for $31. The guy behind the counter had a buggy full he wasn’t even bothering to shelve, said it will be gone before midnight and it was around 5:30pm when I was there.
One guy went spastic when he was told 3 boxes. If you come back and there is any left you can buy 3 more, but it won’t be here tomorrow it will be sold out.
I have more than enough ammo for any firefight I am likely to survive.
“People are buying up weapons and ammo because they are expecting an event that will require the items to be in their hands immediately, not available in 2-3 months.”
I fear that is the case.
Great link. Thanks!
