RALEIGH, N.C. At least two people were injured Saturday afternoon in an apparent accidental shooting at the gun show being held at the North Carolina State Fairgrounds.
Emergency crews responded to the scene shortly after 1 p.m., and two people were loaded into ambulances.
A witness told WRAL that a gun went off after being checked by an official at a safety check-in location, hitting a man in the hand and a woman in the side.
The Raleigh Fire Department confirmed that the Dixie Gun and Knife Show would be closed for the remainder of the day Saturday. There was no word on whether the show, which is held inside the Jim Graham Building, would continue Sunday.

All that information was available in the article if people would have just taken the time to read it............
Well, the article has been revised several times as they update the news.
IMO, it ain’t tinfoil hat territory any more.
The birdshot also struck a woman identified as Janet Hoover, 54, of Benson, and Jake Alderman, a retired sheriff's deputy from Wake Forest who was working at the event.
Visitors are supposed to allow security officials to check in weapons, Keith said, but Wilson removed the gun from its case before personnel had a chance to handle it.
Here, I posted the pertinent facts from the article in order to save you time from reading it yourselves.........
I didn't read that in the latest revision.
That wasn't the case and it was my fault. Too many names to keep track of........
We can use this to hoist them on their petard. So much for “only trained police and military should have guns. Remember the Empire State shooting? Where the police—and only the police—shot innocent bystanders. Remember the Youtube video of the cop shooting himself while speaking to a high school class? The are many, many of these stories. The police are masters of negligent firearms use. Now the question is, was the cop a Democrat? Is this an engineered event?
Does anyone who is from that area KNOW the person who brought the loaded gun? What was this person's demeanor? Did the media mention the NAME of the person who brought the gun? Might be interesting to find out a little more about him, or her.
Most Cops aren’t gun guys. Here in Albuquerque not too long ago, a grizzled old Sgt. had to be called out to help a rookie figure out how to unload a revolver he’d taken off a bad guy.
Excuse me...I need your imprimatur before speculating?
Only an irredeemable idiot would imagine their limited personal experience indicates a universal practice.
Yes, I'm calling you an idiot.
very strange report: Is this a case of CYA?
“Visitors are supposed to allow security officials to check in weapons, Keith said, but Wilson removed the gun from its case before personnel had a chance to handle it. The shotgun was laying flat on a table when it discharged.
I want to emphasize that this was an accident,” Keith said. “At the time, no employee, no officer had inspected that gun.”

The story seems EVEN MORE fishy to me now.
1) Why was a shotgun loaded, with breech closed, IN THE CASE?
2) Why bring it into a gun show in that condition?
Either this guy was a Grade A idiot, or this was a plant. I'd be surprised a plant didn't use an AR, though.
Yes, I'm calling you an idiot.
An idiot is a person arguing and making comments on an event in which they have never attended....you! I've been to plenty of gun shows, so have the people that have been trying to tell what is posted there.
Just like a person with no leg to stand on to start calling names
Actually, and "idiot" is a intellectually deficient person (notwithstanding faux dictionary definitions pulled from your ass).
Any person that projects their limited experiences of a thing to ALL examples of that thing is too intellectually limited to understand anything BUT calling names.
While I have never been to a gun show, I have plenty enough real world experience of organizing events to know NONE of them go exactly according to plan. That being said, I don't have to have ever been to a gun show to know you haven't been to all of them. Therefore, you can not predict all the particulars of the gun show in question.
Finally, even the plain vanilla internet forums are blanching at the unprecedented numbers showing up at local gun shows. If your "experience" is so valuable, go to a local gun store and offer them the same price they were asking for ARs three months ago, genius.
You’re gonna have one heck of a headache in the morning.....
5 injured in 3 shows Ohio, NC, Indiana
http://wtop.com/209/3199539/5-hurt-in-shootings-at-gun-shows-in-Ohio-Ind-NC
Gee, thanks....in the gun shows I’ve been to, the active Deputies do all the gun handling once they come in the door....so the dumb ass was just the attendee.....
Nice.
Since I couldn’t find a story on it, I thought perhaps you might be able to point me to it.
Since you chose to interpret my post as a challenge rather than a question... my apologies.
Have a nice day.
OK then, now we get down to the brass tacks!
You're now sounding like the college professor on sexuality who has never had an orgasm or slept with a woman...........get lost dude, you're simply a troll who is creating unnecessary discord!
The alarm should have gone up and you should have been kicked off this thread long ago..........
Excuse me...I need your imprimatur before speculating?
Yes, absolutely since you have now admitted that you have never been to a gun show....and on thise site we deal with FACTS, not SPECULATION.
And in fact, all your comments are now relegated to speculation on your part and should be taken with a grain of salt..or ignored since all you have been doing is stirring up crap about something you have now admitted to knowing nothing about.
