If there is anything approaching an iron law of American politics, it's this: The next president will be a member of the same race as the current one. It's a rule that has held through 42 of 43 transfers of power. And there's every reason to think it will hold through the next one.

There isn't an obvious black Republican presidential candidate this cycle, though Condoleezza Rice has been acting like she's interested in politics. Hmmmmmmmmm. Let's see -- she's pretty leftwing. She's got ties to George W Bush (and everybody likes the Bush dynasty, right?) and she's a supporter of homosexuals ...
Yes. I guess she IS the most obvious choice for the next GOP nominee ...

The next president will, in all likelihood, be African-AmericanI doubt it. Oboma has set race relations back decades. There's never been so many racist accusations sine Oboma got his affermative action presidency.
I think people have had enough of this "vote for their color" crap. This country is in real trouble, and people really need to get the adults back in charge.

Why stop there? Why not a new constitutional amendment requiring all future presidents be required to be black. And not any of this %50 black mess. %100! Because after all what is more important, the quality of a person's character or their skin color?

I have no preference for the color or melanin level of the next president,
as long as s/he’s a strict constitutional constructionist.

After 2 terms of the same party the mushy middle is generally sick of them, that’s why the sitting VPs usually lose. So unless the GOP completely spike it with a terrible nominee the next dem candidate will lose. Of course given the quality of GOP nominees lately there’s a distinct possibility of them spiking it.

Obama is NOT black. He's a mulatto. For history to record him as "black" is a deliberate lie. And he is NOT African American.
Either he is an American or an illegimate president.

It may be a while before we see another president. Should Obama want to run for a third term, the Roberts Court will dutifully interpret the 22nd Amendment in a way that allows him to do so, and the GOP will, as usual, choose an unelectable has-been or never-will-be as its nominee.

I don’t care if he is purple with polka dots....as long as he is a true conservative who loves America.

Biggest reason not mentioned: any criticism of a black candidate can be tagged as RACIST. Provided that candidate is not a conservative black person, in which case viciously racist attacks are perfectly OK.

Oh, heck—let’s just give it to one of the Globetrotters. They’re already good at being professional clowns. And they’d probably do a better job since they are actually used to working for money.
