Their top spy is in the Oval Office (when he isn’t boondoggling or vacationing).
Such regimes use quantity in such efforts, because they have minimal quality at hand. So from those 30,000, subtract the number that are so incompetent they are soon discovered by professional counterintelligence agencies.
This leaves a core of perhaps a few hundred, many of whom stay in country and try and direct from afar.
In Iran’s case, they have all sorts of ongoing operations around the world, most of which have been compromised, so present no major threat.
rug dealers under particular scrutiny.
Such regimes use quantity in such efforts, because they have minimal quality at hand. So from those 30,000, subtract the number that are so incompetent they are soon discovered by professional counterintelligence agencies.
Unfortunately those incompetent ones keep the
agencies occupied by shear numbers.
I’m afraid the competent ones are going to get through
eventually.

Ecuador pumping up its relationship with Iran and Syria, experts say”
BY: Lachlan Markay
May 28, 2013 2:40 pm
SNIPPET: “American national security officials are not adequately addressing the deepening ties between socialist Latin American regimes and state sponsors of terrorism in the Middle East, experts say.
The ties, these experts add, could help hostile regimes flout international sanctions.
Ecuadorian President Rafael Correa, who is looking to fill the geopolitical vacuum left by the death of Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, is strengthening his relationships with Iran and Syria, two outspoken foes of the United States.
Those ties are the products of efforts by regimes that have been isolated economically to launder funds through countries that can operate freely in the international economy, according to American Enterprise Institute fellow Roger Noriega, a former State Department official and U.S. ambassador to the Organization for American States.
American policymakers, Noriega said, have not adequately responded to the threat.
Its been a very flat learning curve with the Obama administration, he said of Irans increasing influence in Ecuador and elsewhere in Latin America.”

Iran ‘in Latin America Terror Plot’ - Argentina Prosecutor
BBC.co.uk - News ^ | 29 May 2013 Last updated at 18:31 ET | n/a
Posted on May 30, 2013 2:21:47 AM PDT by Cindy
SNIPPET: “An Argentine prosecutor has accused Iran of trying to infiltrate countries in Latin America to sponsor and carry out “terrorist activities”.
Alberto Nisman said Iran was attempting to set up intelligence-gathering stations in Brazil, Chile, Colombia, and other countries in the region.
Mr Nisman is investigating a bomb attack that killed 85 people in a Jewish centre in Buenos Aires in 1994.”
SNIPPET: “”I legally accuse Iran of infiltrating several South American countries to install intelligence stations - in other words espionage bases - destined to commit, encourage and sponsor terror attacks like the one that took place against Amia,” Mr Nisman was quoted as saying, referring to the Jewish centre bombed nearly 20 years ago.
He said the countries targeted included Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay, Chile, Colombia, Guyana, Trinidad and Tobago, and Surinam.
And he claimed that Mohsen Rabbani - the Iranian former cultural attache in Buenos Aires who Argentina blames for the Amia attack - was co-ordinating the alleged infiltration operation.”

“State Department highlights Iran’s ‘marked resurgence’ of state-sponsored terrorism”
By THOMAS JOSCELYN
May 31, 2013
SNIPPET: “The State Department released its Country Reports on Terrorism 2012 yesterday. The year 2012 witnessed a “marked resurgence of Iran’s state sponsorship of terrorism, through its Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps-Qods Force (IRGC-QF), its Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS), and Tehran’s ally Hezballah,” State concluded. “Iran and Hezbollah’s terrorist activity has reached a tempo unseen since the 1990s, with attacks plotted in Southeast Asia, Europe, and Africa.””
SNIPPET: “The State Department’s report confirms, once again, that Iran sponsors terrorists and militants throughout the world.”
