Obama promises 'meaningful action' after Newtown school shooting (Obama's Reichstag Fire?)
Guardian UK ^

Posted on 12/14/2012 3:47:30 PM PST by Arthurio

Barack Obama wiped away tears at the White House as he expressed grief over the children killed in the Connecticut massacre and promised "meaningful action" to prevent similar shooting rampages in the future.

Obama has promised to act on gun control after earlier shooting incidents but subsequently done nothing implement any changes. Over the last four years of his presidency, restrictions on guns – in particular concealed weapons – have become more relaxed and gun sales soared.

There have been five major shooting sprees since he has been president, three of them this year. This one is different because the majority of the victims in the school in Newtown are young children, but the most recent opinion polls have shown overwhelming opposition to gun restrictions.

First, there are already more than 20,000 gun control laws actively on the books today and none of them prevented this tragedy. Second, millions upon million of people in America own guns and 99.9999% of them have never and will never do anything like this.

So, let’s lose the hysteria and analyze the facts - a PERSON did this, NOT a hunk of steel. In Portland, a PERSON killed two people in the mall, NOT a hunk of steel! In Denver, a PERSON shot up the theater, NOT a hunk of steel!!

NONE of these facts will matter to the gun-grabbing nanny-staters, because they focus solely on the gun and nothing else. So, what happens if ALL guns are outlawed and forcibly collected by the feds? Someone bent on committing mass murder may turn to knives, hatchets, chainsaws or machetes. So, we outlaw those. The next person to commit a heinous crime may use a bat, poison, poison gas or a semi-tractor. And the one after that may use a car, a pen or pencil, a rock, his hands . . . . . . so when do we blame the PERSON and NOT the inanimate weapon!???

The fact remains that until the left understands that murdering humans by ANY means including their favorite method, abortion, human life will be valueless and more copycats will come out to exercise their demented mass murder of innocent people.

Congress, impeach Obama now, or face the consequences.

I watched the jerk. He wiped the top of his eyelid, not the bottom where you would expect tears to be. There were no tears—it was all theater. If Obama wants to initiate tighter gun control, I am all for it—as long as we start by disarming his SS detail, Bloomberg’s armed security, and every other liberal elite’s armed protective detail.

I didn't say what I said on this day to win anyone over but to point out the fact that he is using fraud in an attempt to exploit this tragedy.

He said these dead kids will never have another birthday. Those he helped kill never had one, nor has this fraud of a president even pretended to shed a tear for them as he has today. That all needs to be said, today, tomorrow and always.

So does that mean that he is going to issue some kind of executive order? Because Congress is not going to pass some confiscatory law.

Of course he will. He's already promised to act "without Congress."

It is very sensitive of you to also think of the first responders who had to witness this horror of small, beautiful little children and the adults trying to protect them being massacred. My son is a first responder. Thank you for thinking of them too. Prayers today for everyone affected by this tragedy.

.

He’ll CHARGE THEIR PARENTS THE MILLIONS OF TAXES THOSE CHILDREN WOULD HAVE PAID to his union/ACORN buddies in their working lives.

He was almost weeping at the thought of what Soros would say to him about all that money that was lost today!
It was very touching.

I agree with that. I note he didn’t have a single tear to shed about our diplomats in Libya either.

All the tears in the press room today were faked IMO. These creatures have no moral compunction to feel sympathy towards anyone.

They are morally vacant.

Correct! Now watch obama’s propganda machine go to work on these “Jews”, a/k/a ,Legitimate gun owners with the implication that the Christians comprise the gun owning segment.

This call was a first responders nightmare.

This is something that those men and women will have to live with all their lives.

I hope it is understood here that first responders see some terrible things and have to live with them.It does not mean that I do not have sympathy for the families or the children. The police and ambulances crews and Firefighters who witnessed the aftermath of this won’t sleep well tonight either.

So true

Experienced First Responders can get used to handling tough incidents with adults....but, children....that is traumatic for even the most experienced 1stR personnel. They will not sleep well for quite a while

If two of the adults at that school were concealed carriers, this would likely have turned out very different.

Very possible based on all the stories of everyday folks successfully defending themselves and or loved ones lately in their businesses or at home and using a firearm for self-defense.

Unfortunately, we'll never know. And 20 little ones won't be sleeping in their beds tonight because nobody was able to defend them.:(

“Think of this. Malloy repealed the death penalty in CT. If this creep didn’t end up dead during the incident, he would most likely spend life in prison.”

Only if they kept him isolated from the general population. I’m sure someone there would have taken care of this piece of excrement.

"Meaningful action" would be to allow and encourage the so-called "adults" in schools to have access to a weapon that would end this sort of carnage.

Another "meaningful action" would be to train them in the use of same.

Another "meaningful action" would be to inspire the adults in this kind of situation to encourage the "adults" to charge the shooter.

I'm a 6'5" 210 lb. man and the last thing I want to see coming at me with intent to kill me is a 5' 90 lb. woman.
