Barack Obama wiped away tears at the White House as he expressed grief over the children killed in the Connecticut massacre and promised "meaningful action" to prevent similar shooting rampages in the future.
Obama has promised to act on gun control after earlier shooting incidents but subsequently done nothing implement any changes. Over the last four years of his presidency, restrictions on guns – in particular concealed weapons – have become more relaxed and gun sales soared.
There have been five major shooting sprees since he has been president, three of them this year. This one is different because the majority of the victims in the school in Newtown are young children, but the most recent opinion polls have shown overwhelming opposition to gun restrictions.

Krauthammer just stated that the Brady group says Connecticut has the fourth most stringent weapons laws in the nation.

Don’t these far left lunatics understand that even if you take away every single gun in America it wont stop demented evil from killing. What do the left want, to take away guns from the police..then what, we have total anarchy. Chicago is a gun control city and every single day we hear about shooting after shooting. How parents don’;t spend time with their kids, don;t raise their kids and prep them for the real world?
Kids are being screwed up and doing these acts because they are not rasied right.
I see this every day and how parents are too tired, get nannies, day care, can;t be bothered go out to eat and not teach kids to cook, clean up, respect etc
I can think of all kinds of “meaningful action” that would make the left very happy, but I’m hard pressed to think of any law that could prevent lunatics or mentally unstable from these kinds of acts.
I CAN think of lots of actions that would cut violent crime rates by garden variety criminals, but these actions would lean more toward criminal control, not gun control.
Having said all this, I’m gonna guess we will see a huge campaign for more gun control, some of which may come about.
