London - A retired Church of England priest has been jailed for four years after admitting that he sexually abused three boys between 1983 and 1991.
The case against 75-year-old Rev. Ronald Johns revealed that the bishop of Carlisle had responded to another boy's complaint in 1993 by moving the priest but taking no further action.

4 years?

But don’t say anything nasty about Mohammed’s Child Rape of Aisha.....
He probably ruined lives that were shorter than that.
I’ve actually never seen anyone suggest that only Catholics have problems with child abuse, except Catholics using that straw man argument to deflect criticism.

I have. And oddly enough, I've never seen any of the other 35,000 Christian denominations attacked for "having pedophile priests", no matter how many times stories like this show up and get buried by the mainstream media.
Wait a sec... I thought new and enlightened folks in the EUSSR were okay with this stuff....
isn’t their age of consent like 10??

My question:
ONLY FOUR??!!!!
??
what denomination?
The Church of England is part of the government isn’t it? This man was basically a government employee, this should be used to target government employee child predators!!
you mean the church there had a homosexual who touched little boys.
OK chalk that up to yet another homosexual going after little boys and the media will ignore some facts about this
Instead the media portrays homosexuals as just go happy lucky gay men
How many of the other 35,000 denominations having been caught covering up the scandals and protecting the pedophiles, systematically?
That’s what people were condemning with the Catholic scandals, not a few rogue priests misbehaving on their own, but the collusion and cover-up.
And horrible as the abuse was/is, it is NOTHING compared to the molestation by public school teachers.
The number of teachers that abuse students is many multiples of those abused by priests.
Priests go to jail. Teachers get paid leave, until their union finally cuts them loose when it becomes impossible to defend them.
But the teachers still get their pensions. That's the most important thing.
Wouldn't want a molester to have a decrease in their pension, for God's sake.
He was probably one of those High-church Anglicans. They’re pretty much Catholic anyway....
... I’m being facetious btw, in case it isn’t already obvious...
Catholic sex abuse cases
“In 1998 the Roman Catholic Diocese of Dallas paid $30.9 million to twelve victims of one priest ($44.1 million in present-day terms).[19][20] From 2003 to 2009 nine other major settlements involving over 375 cases with 1551 claimants/victims, resulted in payments of over $1.1 billion USD.[note 2] The Associated Press estimated the settlements of sex abuse cases from 1950 to 2007 totaled more than $2 billion.[21] Bishop Accountability puts the figure at more than $3 billion in 2012.[6][18] Addressing “a flood of abuse claims” five dioceses (Tucson, Arizona; Spokane, Washington; Portland, Oregon; Davenport, Iowa, and San Diego) got bankruptcy protection.[21] Eight Catholic dioceses have declared bankruptcy due to sex abuse cases from 2004-2011.[22]”

No, it isn't. As the 'established church', the Church of England has certain residual privileges within the British constitution (most of which these days are more token than real). It has no connection whatever with government, and receives no government funding in any form.
