Two days after President Obama flew into storm-ravaged New Jersey on Wednesday for a 90 minute photo op with Governor Christie, parts of the state have descended into what one local resident calls "an apocalyptic vision." On Friday, in an exclusive interview with Breitbart News, this New Jersey resident described the situation there:
New Jersey right now is experiencing an apocalyptic vision. Gas lines are a mile long. Hundreds are standing in line with gas cans. Fights are breaking out. Police and national guard have been called out. I've not had power or taken a shower since Sunday. Pray for us here.
FEMA reps are meeting with people in their residences to assess how recovery assistance can be provided to them.
While FEMA representatives had finally arrived on the ground by Friday, most of them appear to be focused on providing financial assistance to victims of Hurricane Sandy at some point in the future. There is no indication yet that any FEMA representatives on the ground are actually doing anything to aid in the distribution of food, supplies, gas, or restoring electricity.
On Wednesday, President Obama promised to deliver a far rosier outcome to New Jersey residents over the next several days. In fact, the President made a specific promise that he would make sure supplies were delivered, as CNN reported. Two days later, he's failed to deliver on that promise, though he has been able to campaign in key swing states across the country during that time:
Many people across the region are still in need of basic supplies. President Barack Obama visited a shelter Wednesday in the hard-hit town of Brigantine, New Jersey, where he said he met a woman with an 8-month-old who has run out of diapers and formula.
"Those are the kinds of basic supplies

I just got power back late yesterday afternoon. My son is in Brooklyn and called to tell me that one of the aerial shots of the Jersey shore showed “Romney” carved on the sand in big letters. I have no TV yet and don’t miss it one bit. My dear husband (and my trusty old transister radio) have been my life line. When the lights came back on I almost felt guilty and strangely enough my first instinct wasn’t to reach for the remote or power up the computer. No comcast cable and internet service and quite honestly I couldn’t care less. We were able to get gas yesterday. Our gas line was only four hours. What a difference a day makes. A lot of people here need help. Heading out soon to meet at the church.
You may have seen this before but it perfectly describes the left.
"At the core of liberalism is the spoiled child - miserable, as all spoiled children are, unsatisfied, demanding, ill disciplined, despotic, and useless. Liberalism is the philosophy of sniveling brats." - P.J. O'Rourke
Here in CT, we were without power for four days- but we were prepared.
We had tons of water, cooking gas, car chargers for electronics, cans full of gas, plenty of food, personal cleaning supplies, oil lamps, wood, batteries etc.
We started preparing the Friday before and made certain it was all done by Sunday. When it hit on Monday we lost power almost immediately and the LAST people we would ever think would help us would be the govt.
There is no excuse for not being prepared...the govt will never save you and it is time people learned that lesson.
Now Obama has HIS “Katrina”- another disaster in his ‘legacy’ of failure....
Listen up, I spent 12 years in the NE States and trust me when I say you cannot insult New Englanders. They live in a world in which they are permanently “offended” and have the most amazing “circle the wagons against the rest of America” mentality I have seen anywhere in this country.
It is an absolute fact if you are not a born and bred native of New England you are classified a “wash ashore” and are either shunned or at the least looked at down their nose by a large % of the natives.
After 12 years up there my feeling is New Englanders deserve all the scorn they get. Perhaps you are not as they are but you know what “they” say? You are known by the company you keep.
“..first hurricane to make landfall ... since 1903, etc.”
Great point, but the trime frame was pure roll of the dice.
It continues to astonish me that our general population is so utterly ignorant of basic Earth Science - how storms are formed, how and why they would impact the coast, etc. If you choose to live at or below sea level on the ocean you will get a storm that washes away the coastline - it may happen later rather than sooner, but it will happen - and it has nothing to do with “Climate Change”. It is Climate, Period.
We need to ramp up our earth science cirriculums, pronto!!
Trime = time
I doubt very much that privation, starvation, pestilence or hordes of locusts will prevent most northeastern voters from voting for Obama and Democrat candidates down to the very bottom of the ballot.
In my many years in elective politics and office I noted one consistency....the robot-like voting by Democrats. Many are still voting for FDR and many others will do the same because their families before them voted for FDR.
Others are woefully uneducated in politics and basic economics, others feel they are "superior" to you and me (voting for a black man), others are takers not makers....others are union-connected or government employees......well, I could go on, but you know the story anyway.
These people will NEVER change their voting habits, no matter what. Today Obama could throw a fire-bomb into the front room of my neighbors....and on Tuesday they would march to the polls and vote for him, anyway.
Maybe I missed it but I’m sure there is a massive aid effort coming from the New Orleans area. Ray Nagin leading a caravan of yellow buses full of canned gas and fresh water/s
Those power crews will be paid overtime rates for their trips, plus per diems and more. That couple would be serving their community better by giving to the Salvation Army!!!
Whites are still over 70% of the voters in NJ. All the suburban counties near Philly voted for Obama, despite being heavily white. Can’t blame the “minorities” on Jersey’s political situation. Look at how many lower IQ palefaces in NJ are dependent on government jobs and no bid contracts for their “middle class” lifestyle.
You also described Minnesotans. Exact same mentality. And Democrat as well.

Staten Island is a real estate salesman’s dream. Because it was for sale the presumption is that it was safe to buy. The same is true in many places.
If the flood plain rules applied in Grundy Virginia were applied to New York City, Staten Island would be in the flood plain and can not be rebuilt. There is a town in North Dakota similarly effected. Areas near the river are no longer allowed to be habitable. In Abington Virginia, a small creek skirts the town and much of the area along the creek bank is in the flood plain and property sales are in turmoil.
Near Blountville Tennessee and Roan Mountain Tennessee, large tracts within the flood plain of medium sized creeks and rivers are off limits to rebuilding. The flood damaged houses were razed.
If the same rules are applied to Statan Island, it can not be repopulated in much of it’s area.
Then, there is Miami. Think of Staten Island when the panoramic shots of CST Miami are displayed.
I completely concur; nobody sympathizes with them, least of all the Hispanics being imported to replace them. Newcomers look at the resources thrown at our urban populations, and are shocked 1) that they achieve so little with them, and 2) that they have no appreciation for them.
Mozambique reached out to Portugal after independence to re-establish a relationship whereby Portugal would administer the country; Portugal declined. “White interest” (never guilt) had died...
You realize, of course, that the rest of the country will only see those things if the thoroughly-in-the-tank MSM chooses to let them see it. Since it doesn’t fit the ‘Obamamessiah descending from on high to feed the hungry and heal the sick’ narrative, I expect that those things will get approximately as much coverage as the Libya fiasco, at least until Wednesday.

Exactly.
So infuriating.

Actually, I consider only half of CT to be in New England. The half way point is where the people root for the Yankees instead of the Red Sox.
