That’s why we Jews find humor in adversity.

I’m not a Jew...I just remember my family and friends trying to cheer me up, even though I DID NOT want to be.

Those few seconds of laughter didn’t exactly help, but instead took me out of my misery, even for a few seconds.

Lord help me, was I miserable!

But did it help? There is a lot of Jewish humor that came out of the Holocaust. If we can laugh in the adversity of that then there is hope.

So sorry for your loss. It hurts when we lose our furry babies. I am sure the first one to greet him was your Dad and now they play together again, healthy and young.

Blessings, FRiend, prayers offered for your healing.

Like I said, it didn’t help...except for those few moments when I was taken from my misery into laughter (in which I was very grateful for).

Then I went back to my misery. They kept it up and I was not lost in misery 100% of the time.

Long story short.....my bff kept bringing up the “incident” where Kitty scratched her daughter. We told her Kitty was mean and don’t even try to pet her, but as a little girl who loves animals, she could not help herself.

She came out of my bedroom holding her arm. We asked her if Kitty scratched her, she replied NO...and stuck to it.

She later told her mom Kitty did scratch her. We still laugh about it to this day!

And that was eons ago!! Even Casey (bff’s daughter) still brings it up!

BTW, when Kitty died, little Casey cried for days. She knew how much that cat meant to me. Now we all bring up the “Kitty did not scratch me” story and laugh!

My sympathy.I had a dear little Westie who died in 2000. He was so smart, taught my younger son to be the best soccer and b-ball dribbler in town. That dog had my heart and I miss him still. He had to be put to sleep in November of 2000. I have the ashes of all my dogs, Heather, Wren, Merlin, Magic, Bryant, Scupper and Lily.

I have two little friends now who are my blessed companions.

Know that you have a lot of people who understand.

I’m so sorry. Even though losing one is SO very hard, the idea of never having known them or having them in our lives is worse. Be comforted in knowing that having you in their lives made their own worth living. May the God of all comfort touch your heart and help you heal.

So sorry for your loss. - My Dad has been gone for 10 yrs. now. He was a WWII combat veteran (N. Africa, Sicily, Italy & Germany); was shell-shocked all to hell. Could be a bit difficult at times; but I still miss him terribly. (”Civilization” was hard for him after he came back; but he still came back, worked and tried to “fit in” with “polite society” as best as he could.)

I am so sorry for your loss, but you know where your friend is, and you know you will see them again some day.

May God give you peace at this difficult time.

I sat with her at the end and said “goodbye, I’ll see you again I hope afterwards”

If there are no cats in heaven, I don't want to go there. I want to go where the cats go...Dogs would be OK too.

Regards,
GtG
