Sarah Palin's increasingly testy relationship with Fox News took a turn for the worse this week, when she wrote on her Facebook page that the cable news channel had canceled interviews she had been scheduled to give during the network's coverage of the Republican convention. Palin was supposed to appear on Fox on Wednesday, the same night that Paul Ryan, her successor as the GOP's vice-presidential candidate, was speaking. Fox executives say Palin got cut simply because time was tight after the convention was condensed from four days to three in the wake of Hurricane Isaac. But this is far from the first public clash between the former Alaska governor and her employer. What's the real story behind the souring relationship? Here, three theories:
1. Palin is not the star she was when Fox hired her Four years ago, Palin was the darling of the GOP, says Scott Paulson at Examiner.com, but she threw that away when she quit her job as governor of Alaska. She's "not even a politician anymore." Face it: With her relevance in the Republican Party fading, Palin's "extended 15 minutes" of fame are running out. And fame is what made her valuable to Fox.
2. And her ratings don't justify her monster salary This is "a classic display of Sarah Palin being, well, Sarah Palin," says Gabriel Sherman at New York. But her Facebook outburst also "reveals something deeper" about Palin's rocky relationship with Fox. Palin is the cable news channel's highest-paid contributor at $1 million a year, but Fox executives are disappointed with her ratings. Her contract is up in January, and Fox is weighing what kind of renewal to sign, "if they sign one at all." Palin, disappointed that she's not getting top billing, is pushing back, but she shouldn't press her luck.

LOL, there's about as much chance of that as Obama appointing her. Let's not be ignorant about the "split" in the Republican party that's been there for at least 50 years.
Wonderful.
When I saw your first comment on the thread, I sort of suspected you were talking out the side of your neck. Now I know you are.
Palin DID have a legal defense fund, but guess what? Liberals took her to court over it, and the judge ruled that her defense fund was illegal. Just like that, he took away her only source of defense funds.
Know what you're talking about before putting your ignorance in print.
I hope you simply forgot your sarc tag on that comment.
She wanted to cash in and was bored with the job. And she proceeded to cash in, milked the potential of a presidential run for as long as she could to maximize her book sales and speaking fees, and make fools of her boosters.
Where did you pop up from? DU? You can't come in here and start inventing 'facts', and not expect to get outed for it.
Your statement is pure horse hockey. The laws on the books in Alaska at the time, forbade ANY public monies from being spent by the Governor for defense against ethics lawsuits.
Try again, troll.
And she endorses conservative candidates in primaries who almost always go on to win their primaries. Which is more than you know how to do.
Do you understand the military term "kill zone" or "k.z."?
That is what the 'Rat Lege up there had turned public office into, with Sarah's name written all over the legislation. They were absolutely -- with Rahm Emanuel's and Barack Obama's and the Rahmmy 'RatRoots' collaboration and conspiring -- to mummify Sarah in office, just tie her up and lynch her and break her family -- as in bankrupt, bust, ruination.
We owe those b*stards, but meanwhile, they successfully drove her out of office -- and nobody in U.S. politics could have stayed in that offices with that combination, with those tools available, teaming up to destroy the incumbent governor. Press, Lege, courts, 'Rats, AnkleBiters -- it was a "k.z." for sure, by design.
Get it now?
Everybody except Karl Rove. He has no soul.
No reflection in a mirror, either.
A serious, academically rigorous book about her governorship would be timely about now. It would also send about a dozen people in Alaska and a few in D.C. to prison.
Sarah What? It’s been at least a month since I’ve heard this name.
Maybe her usefulness to FNC has come to an end.
After all she outlived Glenn Beck by well over a year.
After the election they may call her back, if O wins.
Her FNC contract was the reason I knew she had zero intention of running early last year yet scores of fools (cultists) here lived in a dreamworld for well over a year and refused to read the flashing billboard that told them,.
I agree that if Romney loses, an enraged Tea Party will initiate the purge of a lifetime. But even then, you support someone like Rubio and he comes out for a bunch of lib positions. And, there are other problems I’ll discuss in private mail.
Ad hominem. Nice work.
I didn't know she had a defense fund: guilty.
Don't confuse ignorance with stupidity. Ignorance is easily fixed stupid is eternal.
I stand by my original statement: Sarah Palin is not a serious politician, and her resignation, among other things, proves it.
She IS serious about promoting Sarah Palin, and proves it regularly.
Don't confuse ignorance with stupidity. Ignorance is easily fixed stupid is eternal.
You claimed in no uncertain terms that Palin had no defense fund, as though it were absolute fact. Your knowledge of her life and career are so weak, that you didn't even realize you were stating a falsehood, but you're so intent on maligning her, that you risked being ridiculed to do so.
I'm afraid that isn't just ignorance. It really is stupidity.
Stand by your ill-informed viewpoint of her if you will, but it's now been seriously discounted.
Well .. Sarah’s not the only one .. my complaints are many - which I have emailed to FOX.
If they don’t want my viewership .. fine with me .. they’re not the only game in town.
Too arrogant hosts, and too many liberals as program managers who always give us the most radical leftists who are so rude and talk over everybody .. can’t stand it.
Is defending Palin on the internets the FR version of Cialis?
You quack like a liberal, Nina.
Get off my lawn.
