On the eve of his first trip to the United States as Egypts new Islamist president, Mohammed Morsi said the United States needed to fundamentally change its approach to the Arab world, showing greater respect for its values and helping build a Palestinian state, if it hoped to overcome decades of pent-up anger.
In a 90-minute interview with The New York Times on Saturday, Morsi said it was up to Washington to repair relations with the Arab world and to revitalize the alliance with Egypt, long a cornerstone of regional stability.
If Washington is asking Egypt to honor its treaty with Israel, he said, Washington should also live up to its own Camp David commitment to Palestinian self-rule. He said the United States must respect the Arab worlds history and culture, even when that conflicts with Western values.
Morsi dismissed criticism from the White House that he did not move fast enough to condemn protesters who recently climbed over the United States Embassy wall in Cairo and burned the American flag in anger over a video that mocked the prophet Mohammed.
We took our time in responding to avoid an explosive backlash, he said, but then dealt decisively with the small, violent element among the demonstrators.

Earn it dick wad.
I say no respect to arab values, until they show a minimum of respect for Israeli and USA values. Very little accomplishments to help humanity come out of arab countries, despite a huge population. Nothing but terrorism and butchery from there. However, lots of scientific and cultural achievements come from Israel, despite a tiny population. Likewise, lots of accomplishments from the USA.
Arabs should give Israel and the USA lots of respect. Until then, they’re just savages.
The two values I respect when viewing a Muslim are windage and elevation.
Morsi and the muzzies have no idea of the pent up
anger in THIS country, one of these days they are
going to go too far and muslims will end up swinging
from trees and they will all go, “Where did THAT come from?”
And this coming from a religon, a culture , a people that killed 3,000 of our citizens in a coupla hours and then cheered in the streets? When have they ever respected our values
What you said. I’m sure he wants to stifle freedom of speech anyway.
Acting like victims when someone dares to call you out, then ruthlessly sending women and children out wearing bomb vests in steadying of going yourselves, while claiming that dying for Allah is some grand ideal, yet you are too chicken to do it yourselves.
You all make me want to puke!
Nuke Mecca.
It’s hard to generate much respect for the values of people I wish were all feeding the sharks.
Arab Values??? Let’s see: Animal abuse, young girl mutilations, perping on young boys, you rape anything that has breath, self abuse, shoe abuse, you are dog haters, women haters, freedom haters, slave owners, murders’, you are all ugly, and you stink, There is not one single redeeming value to your entire culture or religion!
“Arab Values”
They have values? That’s an oxymoron if ever there was one.
I show the Prophet and Muslims every bit of respect that they have earned and deserved .... not a very big bit and getting smaller all the time!
Hey, Morsi, how many fingers am I holding up?
HINT: Its more than none and less than two.
I could show respect more often if I could find some Prophet toilet paper.
Killing Arabs is an act of respect- it means we deem them lethal.
Back in the late 80’s a muzzie once spilled a drink on me in a bar while my date was in the men’s room. He made no effort to make it right and when I called him on it the murderous look in his eye told me all I needed to know about that culture. They can take their arab values, fold them seven ways, and shove them. Feral cats have more values than muslims.
Morsi is hyping the USA values change so that his children who were born in the USA when he was running around ‘professing’ the goodness of Islam can come back and be eligible for POTUSA- according to some people who apparently would like the prospect.
