WASHINGTON After days of anti-American violence across the Muslim world, the White House is girding itself for an extended period of turmoil that will test the security of American diplomatic missions and President Obamas ability to shape the forces of change in the Arab world.
Although the tumult subsided Saturday, senior administration officials said they had concluded that the sometimes violent protests in Muslim countries may presage a sustained crisis with unpredictable diplomatic and political consequences. While pressing Arab leaders to tamp down the unrest, Mr. Obama and his advisers are left to consider whether to scale back diplomatic activities in the region.
The unrest has suddenly become Mr. Obamas most serious foreign policy crisis of the election season, and analysts say it is calling into question central tenets of his Middle East policy. Did he do enough throughout the Arab Spring to help the transition to democracy from autocracy? Has he drawn a hard enough line against Islamic extremists? Did his administration fail to address security concerns? Has his outreach to the Muslim world yielded any lasting benefits?
These questions come at an inopportune time domestically as Mr. Obama enters the last stages of a campaign season with a measurable lead in polls.

IOW, Obama ushers in his own surrender plan.
Inaction IS action in Obamaworld.
Oboma is a man of desolation - a man of sin. His goal is to empower those who follow the moon God, Allah - the God of darkness, and the God of death.
I believe his goal is to finish the job his muslim brothers failed to do on 9/11. The destruction is almost complete. Another 4 years, and the job will be done.
Perhaps there is a message from the real GOD here.
Bunk. Go in and deal with the perps and their leaders and the bad guys will go back into their caves and the moderates will rejoice.
This would be so easy to fix. Just stop giving them cell phones and weapons. But noooooo... We want to play nicey-nice with people whose goal is our total destruction. Also certain people want to make money from those sales.
It would not be hard to disable their communications infrastructure. I don’t believe they have the materials, the personnel, and the training to deal with that. Chaos would ensue. (Of course they’ve already got plenty of chaos.)
Unrest sounds like a very nice way of saying sodimizing and killing non-islamics.
For all its insufferable shallowness, the article by the New York Times is supposed to be what the journalism profession refers to as a deep "think piece".
OK. Let's really do some "deep thinking" about the situation in the Middle East -- chiefly the Arab world.
Let's start by admitting that Islam and Sharia Law are irresolvably incompatible with the Constitution. In exactly the same way that Native American Indian and European colonial ways of life were incompatible with each other in regard to the concept of private property rights.
As it happened, an irresolvable conflict arose over this concept. It was conceivable that, morally, both sides were right. But, in the end, they could not co-exist and one side had to win, one side had to lose.
Over the past 1,400 years, the Islamic world has sporadically mounted a threat against civilization (one cannot argue that Islamic societies are "civilized"). From Constantinople to Vienna to Khartoum to the Twin Towers, Islam has sought to win its point thru violence. It's important to recognize that this won't magically stop happening.
And it's doubly important to recognize that, with the advent of jet planes, world travel and the modern world's energy needs, Islamic radicalism is no longer isolated within the backward confines of the Islamic Arc.
Indeed, Islamic radicalism now has access to weapons other than the sword. Chemical weapons, biological weapons and, yes, nuclear weapons are -- or soon will be -- within their grasp. Moreover, they can deliver these weapons anywhere in the world -- without need of sophisticated high-tech delivery systems. And, given a culture that adores and idolizes martyrdom, there is no doubt THEY WILL USE THEM!
So, just as the monastery choir in "Sound of Music" asked "What do you do about Maria?", we must ask -- in a much more serious tone -- "What do you do about the Arabs?"
And, if the long-term solution is not annihilation of Islam and its followers, just what is it? And isn't it time to start thinking about it -- if not implementing it?
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm???
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Terrific!

God Bless Our Troops!
Encouraging putting out chairs every Monday until elections, as I saw suggested somewhere - probably FR.
Suggested around the time of Labor Day.
MAKE MY (EMPTY CHAIR) DAY!
But it’s all good, because we’ve got Obama in the White House. Oh, wait a minute....
Others have also prepared for a long siege of Arab unrest. For example, Hosni Mubarek, Muammar Ghaddafi, and Bashir al-Assad, but they prepared very poorly.
Does anyone believe Barack Obama will be any better than those three at preparing for the current Arab unrest against America? Only if non-stop partying, fundraising, and campaigning for re-election are the keys to solving the Middle East crisis, will Obama and America come out of this undamaged.
Those of us in Vegas who have an iota of brain-fed, logical, conscious thought, were elsewhere, cleaning up after the floods that he did NOT use as a photo op because there was only one body, and it had not been found by then.
Zero is such an EMPTY person. He not only doesn’t have a sense of humor, he doesn’t even have brains. As I said on a previous thread, I could say it, but I don’t want to be eternally banned from FR.
And black helicopters over the senior complex I live in would not make me popular with anyone but the local mortuaries!
This is the shadow war that President Bush warned us about in 2001. Fought in and out of the open, playing on our own playing field. The Spaniards were briefly occupied, but I believe they cast it off and returned to conservative governance. Would that we do as well. Question: How do you conquer a country without its even knowing it's at war?
I'm feeling a little chilly.

My Plan to Shape the Arab World
by Barak Obama
1) Blame Bush
2) Apologize
3) Apologize again
4) Blame Christians

Absolutely I remember that. Unfortunately, I don’t think the new “Nightline” will run “Day 14 of the Islamist Uprising”, etc....
Funny.
All this $hit happenin puts ole Mitt in a tight spot.
All in against Islamofacism, or not.
