A talk-show host this weekend on MSNBC, widely considered a heavily left-leaning news network, suddenly erupted into a screaming rant after one of her guests suggested Obama wasnt acknowledging the risks entrepreneurs take in Americas economy. What is riskier than living poor in America? Seriously! host Melissa Harris-Perry shouted on her self-titled show yesterday. I am sick of the idea that being wealthy is risky!
Harris-Perry was discussing welfare reform and economic class mobility with a panel of guests.
One guest, Nancy Giles, described as a social commentator, suggested it was public education and low-cost health care that enabled people to move out of lower economic classes.
But Monica Mehta, described as a business/finance expert, countered that class mobility is fueled by entrepreneurs taking risks, and began to imply that Obamas You didnt build that speech was indicative of anti-entrepreneurial bias.
But Mehta didnt have the opportunity to finish her thought.
What is riskier than living poor in America? Seriously! What in the world is riskier than being a poor person in America? the host interrupted. I live in a neighborhood where people are shot on my street corner. I live in a neighborhood where people have to figure out how to get their kid into school because maybe it will be a good school and maybe it wont. I am sick of the idea that being wealthy is risky! No! There is a huge safety net that whenever you fail, well catch you and catch you and catch you! Being poor is what is risky. We have to create a safety net for poor people, and when we wont because they happen to look different from us, it is the pervasive ugliness. We cannot do that!

When entrepreneurs are outlawed, only government workers will have jobs.
Stupid is hard to cure.
>>What in the world is riskier than being a poor person in America?<<
Being a poor person anywhere else in the world.
This sounds like RAT City.
This is the Republicans' fault...how?
People with hyphenated last names are unstable to start with;)
Maybe, but they won't have pay, at least not for very long.
As millions of government employees in the old USSR found out.
“What is riskier than living poor in America?”
Being poor in one of the third world socialist/dictatorship shitholes about which you think so highly.
What part of the Soviet Union did Ms. Perry come from anyway?
Great answer!
She’s a `gorilla woman’? She doesn’t look that bad. http://guerillawomentn.blogspot.com/2012/09/melissa-harris-perry-gets-passionate.html
Zzzzzing!!!
Bullshit. “When you ain’t got nothing you got nothing to lose”. This idiot doesn’t mean even know what the word “risk” means.
Boom goes the dynamite! Nailed it.
Rats oppose vouchers. Support school choice and stop complaining.
She points to the central irony of Demmunists: They cause the problems they complain about.
It is called ‘hitting a nerve.’
You can tell things are bad [internal polls, etc.] when the Leftie Liberals are screaming: Lawrence O’Donnell, Maddow, Chris Matthews, Olbermann, etc.
They don’t even have any ‘content’ to defend with, so they resort to screaming and changing the subject and vacillating on positions. They have nothing, except for an empty suit in the Oval Office — when he’s not out golfing or on another vacation.
Yeah, like being the poor brother of the President of the United States, and having to call Dinesh d'Sousa for financial help when your son needs an operation.
This type of behavior is what I think will be the downfall of the democrats this week. Full on hard core hatred on display. How many F-bombs are going to dropped and how much will the MSM cover up by not showing it?

Harris-Perry was Associate Professor of Politics and African American Studies at Princeton University from 2006 to 2010. Currently she is Professor of Political Science at Tulane University.[6]
She was married to Dennis Lacewell from 1999 to 2005, with whom she has a daughter.[6][10] She currently lives in New Orleans and is married to James Perry,[2] who was a 2010 candidate for mayor in New Orleans.[4] Two days after the seventh anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, Harris-Perry tweeted that the abandoned house in the 7th ward that she and her husband had bought and were restoring was destroyed during Hurricane Isaac.
Really? Seriously? I doubt it was a hovel she and her husband purchased to restore. She’s as big a liar as obama.
