Two RNC Attendees Threw Nuts At A Black CNN Employee And Said, 'This Is How We Feed Animals'

Two spectators at the Republican National Convention were kicked out Tuesday after allegedly throwing nuts at a black CNN employee and saying, "This is how we feed animals," according to a CNN report this morning.
CNN did not have any further official comment beyond its short report. The convention released this statement this morning:
Two attendees tonight exhibited deplorable behavior. Their conduct was inexcusable and unacceptable. This kind of behavior will not be tolerated."
The story was first extensively reported by Talking Points Memo. And TPM editor Josh Marshall notes that CNN didn't report on it until almost 8 a.m. this morning:
Theres a normal and correct tendency for a news outfit not to want to make itself into the story. But this goes way beyond that and puts CNN in an exquisitely awkward position. CNN has been bending over backwards of late trying to position itself as the last holy beacon of objectivity and fairness in cable news, as Fox and MSNBC play to more clearly partisan audiences. Meanwhile, theyre under almost constant assault from conservatives for alleged (and basically mythical) liberal bias.

I have to wonder if this was staged. If the woman was a delegate or an alternate, she would have had to turn in her credentials before leaving the floor, and there would be a record of the woman’s name, the time she left and the reason given. You don’t just walk off the floor of the convention and out the door.
The actions by the media will be telling.
I've lived in Alabama. It's chock full of racists of every color.
They would have the name already. Like I said, her credentials would have been pulled on the spot.
So many questions...Shelled or unshelled? Roasted or raw? Boiled or green? Salted or unsalted? Heirloom or hybrid? Crunchy or smooth? Bacon or halal? Code Pink or SEIU?
I’m pretty sure they would have thrown the nuts at a WHITE CNN employee and said the same thing. It’s CNN not someone’s skin tone that was the target here.
And the RNC handled this correctly and threw the miscreants out. Now ask Ms. Longoria if she finds the comments from liberals on Wikipedia regarding Mia Love “shocking and horrible”. Doubtful.
“I call BS. This never happened.”
Agreed, but it doesnt matter. It will be widely reported and accepted as fact by 90% of the people that hear about it. Even after its disproved, 80% will not change their minds.
The RNC needs to get ahead of this story and make a statement as to whether or not it actually was a member.
I wasn’t using Alabama as a racist state, that’s what I said the MSM was going to do. They would also choose a state in the Bible Belt ‘cause they have issues with Christians and Conservatives. They sure wouldn’t pick a Northern, supposedly Democrat-leaning state, like MI or Ohio for their rants.
I, that is me and myself, don’t think one state is any more racist than another— don’t be so sensitive.
I'm betting that IF it was said, the color of her skin had nothing to do with it. It was the fact that she worked for CNN. The media are animals.
Agreed. Total setup by the racist liberals of the DNC.
Why is this such a big deal? I mean it’s not as if they were throwing bananas.......
I sent the link from the story to someone at the convention. We’ll see if he answers. This guy is not always reliable, I mean about reading his emails and responding. His work for the GOP is more about him than anything else
If these people were actual GOPers, they were probably drunk and were expressing their opinion of the press in general...and ironically, the fact that they would treat blacks the same as whites has laid them open to the dread charge of “racism.”
That said, nobody needs to be represented by that kind of juvenile behavior, even it it wasn’t “racist,” and the convention people acted correctly by throwing them out.
“CNN will report that some GOP convention attendees strapped an old lady in her wheelchair and threw her in Tampa Bay.”
If it was Helen Thomas I’d hope it would be on video so I could watch it over and over and over and...
Agree.
“I’ve lived in Alabama. It’s chock full of racists of every color.”
Since you’ve “lived here” I’ll defer to your expertise. And what perfect state do YOU live in?
