ABOARD A US MILITARY AIRCRAFT US military chief General Martin Dempsey denounced ex-officers Tuesday for waging a campaign against President Barack Obama, arguing that soldiers had a duty to stay above the political fray.
Wading into a potential minefield during a hotly contested White House race, Dempsey voiced his disapproval of a group of retired military members and CIA officers who have accused Obama of spilling sensitive national security details to help secure his re-election.
Asked if the group's criticism was valid or useful, Dempsey, chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, said he would not comment on the substance of their allegations.
But he added: "As to the latter, is it useful? No, it's not useful. It's not useful to me."

The reason he is the top general “today” is due to his open support for Obama, and his support of Gay rights, and continuing that support without a sqeek when Obama devulges classified information on special ops units, personnel and techniques. Yea, these officers should be telling the press they are only former officers due to the political climate in the military “today”.
If not personally contemptuous, ad-verse criticism of one of the officials or legislatures named in the article in the course of a political discussion, even though emphatically expressed, may not be charged as a violation of the article....The truth or falsity of the statements is immaterial.
Prior Enlisted personnel, however are free to express themselves without fear of reprisal... so F#*K that Marxist Kenyan sack of S#*t.
Romney needs to be pressed NOW to pledge to CLEAN HOUSE at the Pentagon in the event he wins, starting with Panetta and this unfortunate individual, Dempsey. Following that, every four-star, along with most three-stars and two-stars, needs to be canned, as well. One-stars need to go, as well.
Just off the top of my head:
General George Washington?
General Dwight D. Eisenhower?
Well, Martin can bring them back to active service to court martial them for exercising their First Amendment rights. Yeah try that General Martin. Martin would open up a can of political hurt if he attempted to do that. Not going to happen anytime soon.
You obviously meant WWII.
Good list, by the way.

Saw this guy on the news today after his plane caught the shrapnel. Anybody else see Harvey Keitel in ACU?
While in uniform, servicemen fall under the Hatch act and are prohibited from some areas of political activity.
Once the uniform is in the closet, the Constitution we swore to protect/support and defend is in full effect. And just because one is no longer technically “under oath,” one could bet the farm that he still recognizes “enemies, foreign and domestic!”
Pour it on boys!
you do not lose your freedom of speech and thought AFTER you leave the military do you?
Screw You Gen-rul SIR!
Hey Dempsey, ever heard this real close and personal?
FRAG OUT!!!!!!
Next one you may not hear.....
With all due respect, General Dempsey, I am offended by your remarks which appear to be politically motivated, something one should never hear from a uniformed officer! Former military folks no longer wear a uniform, and we can and will assert our 1st Amendment right of Freedom of Speech. I suggest, general, you review your oath of office including that phrase, “support and defend the U. S. Constitution...” General, you are supposed to be defending my Constitutional rights, regardless of our differences. If I wish to criticize the President and his policies, that is my right. I believe you confuse duty and honor with a misguided sense of loyalty to your Commander-in-Chief. Your loyalty, sir is to your troops, the U.S. Constitution and to the people of the United States!
Screw the general and get rid of his anti-constitutional ass ASAP. He’ll be the treasonous turd to lead Obammy’s war against his political enemies - Americans.
We need to keep track of these radical pigs who have infiltrated our military and ride them to Wesley Clark’s shed.
Fair enough.
Absolutely he was - otherwise his remarks would have mentioned that these officers are retired and exercising their First Amendment rights. He's smart enough to know that is the right response - he consciously decided to be political for the sake of his own career.

Leni,
Unlike Obama, and probably General Dempsey, I cannot and will not take credit for something that I am not responsible for. That play on words was created by a brilliant Freeper many months ago. There are so many great nicknames, created by Freepers, for Obama and his Patrick Ewing look-alike wife, (That one is mine!) that we really should start a thread just to list them all. That would be a fun thread!
the modern military where PC rules and all they care about is their own lives instead of the country.
I went to the marines recruitment and boy has the military changed the man was a complete idiot who even has the gaul of telling me my oldest will never be forced to share showers, rooms or undress with a bunch of queers.
The other week a woman homo was promoted to Brig Gen and not once has she ever served in combat, she was a desk jockey and got promoted on her strap on sex
