When They Come For Your Guns, You Will Turn Them Over
August 13, 2012
By Jim Karger
When they come for my gun, they will have to pry it out of my cold, dead hands, is a common refrain I often hear from the Neo-Cons when there is a threat, credible or otherwise, that the US government is going to take their firearms.
And, when I hear this crazy talk, I agree with them openly. You are right. They will pry your gun from your cold dead hands, which I often follow with the question, And where will that leave you except face down in a pool of your own blood [in] the middle of the street, just another dead fool resisting the State?
This is not a question they are comfortable with, if only because the intent of their saber-rattling was to imply they would fight to keep their weapons, and win.
Nice fantasy. Its not happening.
If the federal government decides to disarm the public, and when the increasingly-militarized rolls down your street after a not-so-subtle request that you kindly turn over your firearms and ammunition for the common good, it will be nothing less than suicide by cop to do anything other than what you are told.
The militarization of US police forces is ongoing and escalating. Many cities and towns now own tanks, armed personnel carriers, even attack helicopters, and almost all are outfitted with military weapons not available to the general public.
And, it is not just your hometown cops who are getting new boy-toys. The military itself is buying up weaponry not just for use in the current or next scheduled war, but to deal with the likes of you, citizens who dont seem to understand that the Bill of Rights has been overruled, and that specifically includes, but is not limited to, the right to protest and engage in civil disobedience.
Also ignored (as if it didnt even exist) is the Posse Comitatus Act of 1878 which generally bars the military from law enforcement activities within the United States.
According to Public Intelligence:
for the last two years, the Presidents Budget Submissions for the Department of Defense have included purchases of a significant amount of combat equipment, including armored vehicles, helicopters and even artillery, under an obscure section of the FY2008 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for the purposes of homeland defense missions, domestic emergency responses, and providing military support to civil authorities. Items purchased under the section include combat vehicles, tanks, helicopters, artillery, mortar systems, missiles, small arms and communications equipment. Justifications for the budget items indicate that many of the purchases are part of routine resupply and maintenance, yet in each case the procurement is cited as being necessary for use by the active and reserve components of the Armed Forces for homeland defense missions, domestic emergency responses, and providing military support to civil authorities under section 1815 of the FY 2008 NDAA.
And, they are not just arming cops and weekend warriors for domestic purposes. Active duty Marines are now being trained for law enforcement operations all over the world (of which the US remains a part) specifically to deal with civil uprisings, and the US government knows that civil uprisings are coming to a town near you just as soon as the fantasy of a healing economy is shattered, the US dollar fails, and unemployment goes to 30%+ in real numbers.
And, to you tough-talking Neo-Cons with your AR-15 rifles and a few thousand rounds of ammo, here is the reality: they will take your guns, and no, all your Second Amendment bluster aside, you are not going to do anything about it. You are not going to take on a platoon of Marines with state-of-the-art automatic weapons and the best body armor you cannot buy protected by armed personnel carriers and attack helicopters unless you choose to die that day for nothing. You will either be in the country or out, and if you are in, you will stay in and you will comply.
That is your choice
for the moment.
No. But I AM a much better shot than most Fudd's on the range that dust off their trusty .243 once a year..
yep, and the batfags wouldve been blistered MUCH worse had not the Davidians shown mercy and allowed them to retreat...
remember however that even though theyre thugs, they are somewhat teachable, not giving Vicki Weaver a chance to use an 'assault infant' to take out their well hidden snipers...
The government has nukes, and if the degradement of the military command structure is as bad as they say, they will use them on regionally balky areas as an example to “the rest of us”.
are you really suggesting that the US government and the US military would use nuclear weapons on its own soil against its own people? I don’t think a post nuclear apocalyptic wasteland scenario would help them get what they want. They’re pretty limited in what they can do about the 200 million or so firearms located within the US.
Aesop’s fables. You must be ooooooooooold.
I’m betting there aren’t 1000 Americans under age 40 that have read Aesop’s fables. Maybe they should make them into a video game for iphone.
I was born in 1958, and in my youth, Aesop’s fables were a stable for me and most of my friends.
It is stunning the wisdom of the elderly and the ancients that modern Americans have failed to pass on to their children. Of course, there is a concerted effort of the schools NOT to pass this wisdom on to children, lest they value their lost liberty and wonder what rights they have.
Aesop’s fables should be required reading for all 5th graders.
Those aren't military personnel in those CEVs, and the BATF and FBI had to lie to the military for authorizization to use military vehicles, weapons and aircraft.
And the political career of the military commander who authorized it came to an immediate screeching halt. There's an object lesson there for other military or political persons with any similiar thoughts or ideas in mind.
Too wordy. though. Keep the verbiage short, and the slogans and pics will inspire reproduction from the enduser, just as history has shown us.
the meat of it really is
My message to the Left? Stop hitting us. We are not subjugated dependents. Stop abusing us. We are not cattle. Stop mistaking forbearance for incapacity.
Above all, stop. Now.
too bad the thirst for power is too great for man to do so...
Hide the guns.
If you think it is time to hide them, then it is probably time to dig ‘em out, dust ‘em off, and put them to use.
DAMN! Do we all look that old......LoL!
Actually, it’s the older generation who is worried about what is coming as surely as the rain...Marxism/Communism/Socialism. The younger ones have never smelled the wonderful sweetness of freedom nor ever lived a life of freedom as we have.
The shame of it all is all the life that has been lost protecting that freedom while today’s younger ones think it’s the governments job to govern us rather than us governing it.
” 436 is brilliance.”
Indeed it is!
” My message to the Left? Stop hitting us. We are not subjugated dependents. Stop abusing us. We are not cattle. Stop mistaking forbearance for incapacity.
Above all, stop. Now.”
YEP
“...Above all, stop. Now...”
They waited 100+ years for this moment.
They’re too stupid and insane, brain damaged even, to back down.
Let’s hope cooler heads prevail.
Those of us who've made it this far do, and I can tell you for sure that there are those of us of this age who look a good bit worse.
No matter. Our time as doorkickers and grunts is long past, though, yeah, there are still a few tasks we can pull off if it comes to that.
But that would be a waste of hard-won experience, talent, and resources. Our job now is to pass on skills and attitudes to those who'll have to take over from us once we're no longer able to keep on keeping on. We need to show some senior NCOs and field grade leaders where their duties and obligations lie, and to the extent our experience is valid for their situations, share that too with them.
And if and when it becomes time to do so, we must set the example: fix bayonets, go down swinging, and die in place.
“..Hide the guns....”
Criminals do that.
I’m a Citizen.
The criminals are the ones coming for them, if it happens.
Eff ‘em.
Pricy, at 85 Grand or so. But available.
You'll also need the co-ax and top machineguns, ammo, OVM, radios and most of all, a trained and experienced crew. Not a problem; all those things can be had too. You just have to know where to look, or get someone who does as your first acquisition.
Fortunately, you've already made contact with someone with experience in old Polish T-55Ls as well as most U.S. armor of the previous five decades.
I’m 51...does that make me old too, or am I still a youngster?? Hahahah!
You so-called “Old guys” - especially Vietnam Vets - are a national treasure, a wealth of Americanism, and an absolute nightmare for the lefties.
Teach. Show kids what Americans are made of. This ain’t over by a long shot.
Thanks for being there. And Welcome Home.
The most analagous situation I know of similar to that we now face is that of the Finnish Civil War of 1918. In short: Finland, a former Russian duchy, was *given* its independency by the successful Russian Communist revolutionaries of 1918, who wished to show the world that newly-Soviet Russia had no desire for colonies by another name. The Russian Communists were consolodating their power and were about to face a small civil war of their own, so military intervention in Finland was impractical for them anyway. But as usual, the Soviet Communists hedged their bets.
Finland's Socialists were in power, and in combination with the country's own Communist Party, declared that the nation would join with the Soviet Union by treaty- no national election or plebiscite needed, and there's nothing you can do about it, anyway. That's an oversimplification [ background and details *here*] but approximates the situation. As it turned out, there WAS something the Finns could do: they had a four-month long civil war, during which about 1% of the Finnish male population was killed or otherwise died.
During the Armerica Civil War of 1861-1865, about 2% of the USA male population died...but that was over a four YEAR period, not four months. And during the Finnish bloodletting, only about one death in four could be reasonably described as a casualty of the fighting; the rest were put up against the nearest wall or logpile and shot, or were bayoneted by recruits as an introduction to their new trade; Europe's Socialists remain wary of rifles in civilian hands with bayonet attachments to this day- and their aversion has spread to their fellows elsewhere as where.
The point being: with the US population at around 325 million, a 1% casualty rate would result in a lot of overtime for the gravediggers; you can do the math. And once it starts, I don't really expect it to be over in just four months; the Finns had a really nasty winter interfere. We generally have better conditions for that sort of thing, thus our four years of brother versus brother and neighbor versus neighbor. The youngest Red soldier executed was 9 years of age.
