There is already conjecture that James Holmes may have been involved in mind-altering neuroscience research and ended up becoming involved at a depth he never anticipated. His actions clearly show a strange detachment from reality, indicating he was not in his right mind. I fully expect to discover he’d been the subject of government psychiatric sessions. Seems to be a common thread amongst many of these types of shooters.
I don’t agree that it’s a dream collection...but I do agree it’s the sterotypical internet warrior dream collection.
This is the one thing I keep coming back to. Were they actually CS grenades, or were they novelty smoke grenades (big, plastic, tons of smoke, and shaped like a big pineapple grenade from WWII). No fuse, pull a string and plenty of smoke for a theater - the kiddies got one for Independence day. In an enclosed space, it would have worked very well.
Doesn’t necessarily hinge on parent/child relationship. Seems to me like either social services or the police (who would only step in in the case of verbal threats) would have been the steps to take towards that. Of course, if the mother did possess any kind of evidence that her son would have engaged in the behavior he did, then she may be culpable for not reporting this to law enforcement.
If you really delve into the shenanigans of our government - this is entirely plausible.
It doesn’t mean it happened.

Can you envision circumstances in which you would not know the details?
If the CIA had projects whereby they were trying to blow the circuits of individuals (and they did have those kinds of projects) could you envision such a person killing someone??? And then it never coming to light that the person was experimented on?
A US Marshall was slipped LSD. By accident or on purpose. It probably was on purpose but he might not have been the target.

I can see someone going on a killing spree.

It’s not idle speculation. Have you read the declassified documents about MK-Ultra?
Richard Helms destroyed a lot of them..but some still exist.
For example, they experimented on a woman who feared guns. They wanted her to kill without remembering it.
They pointed a finger at her. Something they programmed into her from the night before. She went into a hypnotic state. She had been instructed that she would be in such a rage that she wouldn’t hesitate to kill a certain person because that person wouldn’t awaken. She picked up the gun, the person wouldn’t awaken (that person had been programmed, too) fired the gun at the person, and didn’t remember afterward she did it. After they got her out of the hypnotic state she feared the gun and didnt remember that she had shot the gun.
I bring this one up because I just read that particular document.

Dr. Robert C. Miller served as a “substitute Incident Commander” for the response team dispatched to deal with the aftermath of the April 16 shootings.
the very same psych doctor who “treated” Cho, and then who hid his mental health records in his home, and then lied about hiding them was also the very same person who served as the Substitute Incident Commander in an incident response team that dealt with the Cho shooting aftermath.
Dr. Miller has apparently committed at least one criminal act by removing Cho’s mental health medical records and hiding them in his home for two years. Is it possible he could have been engaged in other unethical activities such as acquiring psychiatric drugs for Cho, or neglecting to warn appropriate officials about Cho’s risk to fellow students?
Dr. Miller was never even interviewed by a state-appointed investigative commission. Virginia Tech, it seems, might prefer these medical records stay hidden.
Among the things they probably would not want to make public might be medical records showing Dr. Miller encouraged or supported Cho’s continued taking of psychiatric medications.
