Per Rush (reading): Obama's HHS yesterday announced a change to the welfare act of 1996. The requirement to work or look for work has been deleted from the welfare reform act of 1996 by Executive Order, specifically the dependent child section.
Per Rush, the 1996 act worked. It cut welfare applications by 50% because of the requirement to work or look for work. Obama has done away with that requirement yesterday with a stroke of the pen. Of course, this garners him millions of more votes in November.
It's his only goal.
Congress. So inconsequential.
Obama is pushing his agenda full-bore.
Either he thinks he’s going to lose anyway and is gumming up the works as fast as possible.
Thinks his opponents are so gutless they won’t be able to stop him. Romney won’t be able to stand up to the media firestorm and boo-hoo anecdotes with which they’ll flood the airwaves.
so who is gonna pick up the tab, the taxpayer of course, why bother for work when you can roll up and get welfare without having to prove anything, the welfare queens can sit on their asses all day now and not move.

True, although a certain percent of his base does work. This may backfire with that small percent.
Sidenote: I heard someone say on one of the talk shows that if Repubs could get even 8% of the black vote, that would be enough to win. Not sure about that theory or the numbers.

The requirement to work or look for work has been poorly enforced by this administartion to begin with.
There are jobs out there, but employers are flooded with on-line resumes of people who have no intention of working, but who are simply following through with a poorly enforced requirement.
People who really want to work can’t get an interview.
I have no doubt whatsoever that Obama is enabling the lazy to party off of the hard work of others. But those who are unemployed and want to work will find it easier to get an interview.
Meanwhile, the dependency class becomes more dependent.

Isn’t this just an attempt to shore up his lagging base? It will not get him new voters or even return the lost ones.
As for the work requirement: I’ve known people who had to take disability just to get extreme medical costs covered. They were actually limited as to how much they could earn and if they earned over and received medical care, had to reimburse the system for the overage they had earned. One told me she wished she could work more and still get the medical coverage for her chronic disease. Now, it is even more difficult, as she must travel 50 miles to a VA center for medical care. I was surprised, but then someone else told me that low-income Medicaid patients are routinely treated at the VA.
Yikes! Now there is something that I've never heard. Taxpayer funded IHS (Indian Health Services)hospital really put the squeeze on their patients to force them onto state Medicaid. It's like the taxpayers are paying for those medical services twice.
