It is a natural thing for women and men to be sexually attracted to each other. The man's age (17) might make him a "minor" in our mother hen society but for the purposes of nature, anybody who reaches puberty is biologically a man or a woman and no amount of legislation will change that fact.
Now I'm not saying a sexual relationship between a teacher and student should be allowed. Definitely the teacher should have been fired and the student expelled. But prison? That is ludicrous. Already we have one out of every 100 citizens imprisoned. We don't need to be locking up schoolteachers for having sexual relations with students (unless of course, rape or assault was involved).
Whatever one's opinion of good looking female teachers bedding her teenage students (such as the many jokes here) it does happen to be the goal of a parent looking to educators with a certain amount of trust.
Today, that is no where evident less than in schools across America.
Good humored jokes aside, this type of predatory behavior isn't humorous when it is a 55 to 60 year old male teacher with his 15 year old female student nor a 47 year old male or female teacher with a young student teen of the same sex.
This kind of thing is no longer a rarity, it's commonplace.
Lastly, I expect the teachers to find other places to go on the hunt for sexual stimulation than their own classrooms. If this were my daughter behaving this way with her male students, I certainly would be ashamed and I also would inquire as to why she was unable to find suitable males of her own age with whom to "explore" her sexuality.
This is the VERY WORST type of excerpting. AOL does it all the time. If AOL is you model you are doing wonderfully. But I don’t go into their content very often. I abhore being toyed with. I don’t ask to know everything about a story; I just ask to have a decent idea of what I’m getting into. You suck at that as does AOL.

I’ve always wondered why jail was the appropriate punishment.
Why shouldn’t it be revoking their teaching certificate or having to pound erasers or forcing them to five years of summer school or being forced to monitor the girls restrooms, etc.
I will remain eternally grateful.
Somewhere out there is a 19 year old guy who doesn’t look a day over 13 and could make a killing whoring himself out to female teachers.
So is this a new thing or did young make students in the 40s and 50s and 60s just know a good thing when they had it and kept their mouths closed. I can’t remember hearing anything but male teachers having sex with young female students through about 5 years ago. Now suddenly, it is all female teachers and young boys.
What gives? Did they change the birth control formula to alter women’s brains or something?
