I don't agree with prison for this woman and her attractiveness (or lack thereof) has nothing to do with it.
It is a natural thing for women and men to be sexually attracted to each other. The man's age (17) might make him a "minor" in our mother hen society but for the purposes of nature, anybody who reaches puberty is biologically a man or a woman and no amount of legislation will change that fact.
Now I'm not saying a sexual relationship between a teacher and student should be allowed. Definitely the teacher should have been fired and the student expelled. But prison? That is ludicrous. Already we have one out of every 100 citizens imprisoned. We don't need to be locking up schoolteachers for having sexual relations with students (unless of course, rape or assault was involved).

“We don’t need to be locking up schoolteachers for having sexual relations with students (unless of course, rape or assault was involved).”
Cops, Special Victims Investigators, common detectives, judges, prosecutors, defense lawyers, jail personnel, ParolePersons, ad nauseam - ALL disagree with your mean spirited post.
Why do you want to pull their snouts out of the government trough?
Just because G*d said a male was responsible for his own sins at age 13 means nothing in a “Post Modern, Post Structuralist collective such as present day America.

I absolutely agree with prison for this woman, and I am okay with anything that happens to perverts who defend her.

I do agree with you as well. We also need to teach our kids the responsibilities as well as potential complication associated with sex and to instill our morals into our children as best as we can. When they become 16, 17 and so on, hopefully we taught them enough to judge right and wrong for themselves and make the correct decisions.
I think the problem is that we are biologically capable of being parents as young as 13, 14, 16 and so on, yet we live in a world where we extended "childhood" to 18, 21 and in some cases 25 and beyond. There is no ignoring biology I'm afraid so we do have to do a dang good job in teaching our young adults into making the right decisions and to be responsible for themselves.
We have too many wrong people in jail, jail should only be for violent offenders.

I agree. She’s not a predator. She seems to have displayed a shocking lack of self-control for a twenty six year old woman with a college degree, but not a predator.

It is not alright for teachers to sexually prey upon students. You are an amoral ignoramous.
