Over the last few days, since Romney clinched the GOP nomination for President by going over the 1,144 committed delegates needed with his win in the Texas Primary on Tuesday, May 29, 2012, a number of new endorsements have come in for Romney's bid for the Presidency.
These include George Shultz, former Secretary of State; Condoliza Rice, former Secretrary of State and National Security Advisor; Mike Huckabee, former Governor of Arkansas and presidential candidate; and Nancy Reagan, wife of President Ronald Reagan. Here's what each of them had to say on the date they endorsed Romney:

|
NANCY REAGAN endorses Mitt Romney (May 31, 2012) I offer my firm endorsement of Mitt Romney's campaign for president. Ronnie would have liked Gov. Romney's business background and his strong principles, and I have to say I do too. I believe Mitt Romney has the experience and leadership skills that our country so desperately needs, and I look forward to seeing him elected president in November. |

MIKE HUCKABEE endorses Mitt Romney (May 31, 2012) I was very careful and deliberate in not wanting to get involved in the process prior to somebody securing the nomination, largely because I play on both radio and television. I didnt feel it was appropriate for me to pick a Republican candidate. I dont think anyone doubted that I was going to support the Republican. But Mitt Romney has now earned it and I use that term very specifically. He worked hard to get it and therefore I think all Republicans and all conservatives need to rally around Gov. Romney. |

CONDOLIZA RICE endorses Mitt Romney (May 30, 2012) "We care about the future of this country, and the future of our world and Im delighted to join so many friends here in supporting, and in my case, endorsing, Gov. Mitt Romney for President of the United States. If America is going to rebuild its strength at home, rebuild its sense of who we are, it needs a leader that also understands how really exceptional the United States of America is, and is not afraid to lead on the basis of that exceptionalism. America's leadership is craved in this world, its understood in this world. The only thing the American people dislike more than weak leadership, is no leadership at all. And Governor Romney, you can bring it back." |
|
|
|
GEORGE SHULTZ endorses Mitt Romney (May 30, 2012) "What Mitt has done at Bain Capital has been a major contribution to the American economy. He has learned and instinctively can feel what it takes to get this huge amount of money that is sitting on the sidelines of our economy to move forward and be invested." |
I found Huckabee's statement interesting, and compelling, given the history.

A long and impressive list of very recognizable names that brings together every portion of the GOP...from the very conservative, to moderates (which he will have to have to win, as sad as it is to include some of their views), which will and is also attracting a majority of the independents...which he will also have to garner.
Great, then promise yourself that you won't give into what ever temptation you are currently entertaining to pull the lever in the voting booth for Obama. Simple enough, isn't it?
FReegards!
Noit much has changed...
...the presidential campaign of Mormon Church founder Joseph Smith in 1844: Challenging Democrat James Polk and Whig Henry Clay, Smith prophesied that if the U.S. Congress did not accede to his demands that they shall be broken up as a government and God shall damn them.
Smith viewed capturing the presidency as part of the mission of the church.
And your advice is worth what I paid for it ... when you get my age and have arthritis in your finger joints, perhaps some arrogant asshat like you will tell you to learn to spell.
The whole WORLD is!
EV will be voting for himself ...
>>Yet, how they would govern is what I’m talking about. <<
Obama has governed by executive order with EPA and IRS Stormtroopers squelching every bit of descent. The ONLY branch of government that has made ANY headway with the Marxist in Chief has been the Supreme Court.
Put Obama in and have Thomas or Scalia come up ill and you’ll get another Wise Latina or perhaps Holder himself.
The choices are not the same.
Are you trying to infer that Romney; a life-long MORMON; who went on a MISSION to France during the Vietnam era, whose has been a BISHOP in The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-day Saints, actually BELIEVES what is written in Mormon SCRIPTURE??
16, Exaltation is gained through the new and everlasting covenant; 714, The terms and conditions of that covenant are set forth; 1520, Celestial marriage and a continuation of the family unit enable men to become gods; 2125, The strait and narrow way leads to eternal lives; 2627, The law is given relative to blasphemy against the Holy Ghost; 2839, Promises of eternal increase and exaltation are made to prophets and Saints in all ages; 4047, Joseph Smith is given the power to bind and seal on earth and in heaven; 4850, The Lord seals upon him his exaltation; 5157, Emma Smith is counseled to be faithful and true; 5866, Laws governing the plurality of wives are set forth.
16Therefore, when they are out of the world they neither marry nor are given in amarriage; but are appointed angels in bheaven, which angels are ministering cservants, to minister for those who are worthy of a far more, and an exceeding, and an eternal weight of glory.
17For these angels did not abide my law; therefore, they cannot be enlarged, but remain separately and singly, without exaltation, in their saved condition, to all eternity; and from henceforth are not gods, but are aangels of God forever and ever.
18And again, verily I say unto you, if a man marry a wife, and make a covenant with her for time and for all eternity, if that acovenant is not by me or by my word, which is my law, and is not sealed by the Holy Spirit of promise, through him whom I have anointed and appointed unto this power, then it is not valid neither of force when they are out of the world, because they are not joined by me, saith the Lord, neither by my word; when they are out of the world it cannot be received there, because the angels and the gods are appointed there, by whom they cannot pass; they cannot, therefore, inherit my glory; for my house is a house of order, saith the Lord God.
19And again, verily I say unto you, if a man amarry a wife by my word, which is my law, and by the new and beverlasting covenant, and it is csealed unto them by the Holy Spirit of dpromise, by him who is anointed, unto whom I have appointed this power and the ekeys of this priesthood; and it shall be said unto themYe shall come forth in the first resurrection; and if it be after the first resurrection, in the next resurrection; and shall inherit fthrones, kingdoms, principalities, and powers, dominions, all heights and depthsthen shall it be written in the Lambs gBook of Life, that he shall commit no hmurder whereby to shed innocent iblood, and if ye abide in my covenant, and commit no murder whereby to shed innocent blood, it shall be done unto them in all things whatsoever my servant hath put upon them, in time, and through all eternity; and shall be of full force when they are out of the world; and they shall pass by the angels, and the gods, which are set there, to their jexaltation and glory in all things, as hath been sealed upon their heads, which glory shall be a fulness and a continuation of the kseeds forever and ever.
20 Then shall they be gods, because they have no end; therefore shall they be from aeverlasting to everlasting, because they continue; then shall they be above all, because all things are subject unto them. Then shall they be bgods, because they have call power, and the angels are subject unto them.
21Verily, verily, I say unto you, except ye abide my alaw ye cannot attain to this glory.
22For astrait is the gate, and narrow the bway that leadeth unto the exaltation and continuation of the clives, and few there be that find it, because ye receive me not in the world neither do ye know me.
23But if ye receive me in the world, then shall ye know me, and shall receive your exaltation; that awhere I am ye shall be also.
24This is aeternal livesto bknow the only wise and true God, and Jesus Christ, whom he hath csent. I am he. Receive ye, therefore, my law.
25aBroad is the gate, and wide the way that leadeth to the bdeaths; and many there are that go in thereat, because they creceive me not, neither do they abide in my law.
Yes, you're right. I did zing you pretty well with that post.
Still stings, I see.
FReegards!
LC, the insane ravings of a dead soul demon servant like Joe Smith, or his latter day faux high priest’s beliefs still won’t deter me from voting to remove the little bastard commie and his regime. Your mileage may vary, and that’s what makes America so interesting. The ISM to wqhich Milt pays his tribute will not flourish in the glare of truth about to be rained down on this world as desperate commies do anything they can to stay in power. We The People, if given the chance to survive the rape by democrats through the commie bastard, Barack Obama, will not allow Milt Romney to foist his fake christianity upon US. You may rest assured of that.
I just HATE when they do that!
Except, of course, when focusing attention on his personal history involves pointing out instances from it that you don't want people to talk about. When people do that, then they're just "using Alinksy tactics" to "freeze the target" and "assassinate his charactre."
I suspect not a few people around here easily fall for conspiracy theories....
Well, I'm not sure where "conspiracy theories" come into play, since we can all read a freaking newspaper just as easily as anyone else. I mean, seriously, do you think it's a "conspiracy theory" to point out, for instance, that Romney signed into law an "assault weapons" ban modeled off the federal ban, or that Romney helped to give Planned Parenthood a permanent spot on the planning board for his health insurance plan, or that Romney did in fact help to raise taxes in Massachusetts, while leaving the state with a $1 billion dollar budget deficit and a 7% greater overall tax burden than when he took office, or that Massachusetts was losing its position as a leader in tech jobs and innovation during "Governour CEO's" tenure?
Really?
That's all just our imagination?
Like, reading a Massachusetts Technology Collaborative report is equivalent to sitting in our mom's basement with tin foil on our heads and one of those "I want to believe" UFO posters on the wall?
Seriously?
Once again, I didn't start off as a "pro-Romney people." But he's the best candidate standing right now; one who has a good chance of being elected President. And that helps me with "Job One": removing a criminal conspiracy from the Oval Office.
That's such short term, knee-jerk thinking.
Sorry, but you still haven't made your case. You've failed at that objective. You're not telling us why your candidate deserves our votes. Simply pointing at Obama and hooting isn't enough. You're not convincing us that Romney will be much better. Great, so Romney's not a "criminal conspiracy." Precious little good that does me when he's still maumauing a GOP Congress into raising my taxes while putting pro-gay judges on the bench and stumping for another "assault weapons" ban.
You know, if I were confident that Romney really and truly wasn't going to etch-a-sketch us the first chance he gets, but that he really and truly was "evolving" into a more acceptable conservative who wasn't just telling people what they want to hear so he can ride into office on their votes, only to treat them like the redheaded stepchild that conservatives usually get treated as by these GOP-E types, then I'd be willing to support him, or at least vote for him. But I just don't have that confidence.
And losing...
>>The sad thing is they are prepared to live with the destruction of our country on the altar of their purity.<<
Amen.
Good night. It’s late here in the Midwest and I’m off to church early tomorrow.
Well, you could still clean the spittle of your screen, couldn’t you?
Well, you could still clean the spittle off your screen, couldn’t you?
Every thread with OBAMA in the title seems to be turned into a religion thread by a small but vocal contingent of Freepers who can't get over the thought that in November this country will possibly elect its first Mormon president and they're going to do everything in their power to make it happen it. Better to elect an Christian-hating heretic than a Marxist as far as they're concerned.
Oh?
This smells very similar to a 'burned over district' that is also fiction.
You're iright; as a LOT of those rabid MORMONs managed to get themselves zotted for stupidity.
I must admit that I don;t much care what Romney's religion is.
Nevertheless, it is interesting that the same people who tell us that we shouldn't care about Romney's religion seem desperately interested in Obama's.
