I downloaded a voter registration form today and changed my party affiliation to Independent as well. It is in the mail for tomorrow’s pickup. Sick of the BS.

I’m talking about this “turn the economy around” rhetoric based on unemployment figures or pocketbook/kitchen table economics. Bottom line, though, you can’t make your message all about economics or you’ll never be able to beat a Democrat if and when the economy is doing good, as we saw with Clinton. You’ll also never be able to save yourself if the economy’s going through a rough patch, as we saw with Bush, Sr. Leftism/progressivism is so embraces and well-defined by the Democrats now, that a debate over those BIG ideas should be what we’re running our elections on. And that entails social policy as well as economic policy.
Now that makes sense. Thanks for expanding your thoughts.

I can't zot anyone. The owner, Jim Robinson, has made it clear this is a conservative forum believing in life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness with the least amount of government intrusion. Romney does not meet those standards so Jim will not allow Romney lovers to promote him on this forum.

The presidency is to a degree, but the rest of it is bullsh*t. Go get enough people to get the right people elected in the primary. The game is voting numbers. The rest is periphery. It takes work. The problem is too many people, including most on message boards, are lazy and do nothing but bitch.
Door knocks, parade volunteers, stuffing envelops, phone calls. That's what it takes to win. I don't do the calls, but I do the other things. That strategy can go for both party leadership as well as our elected officials.
Romney sucks, but not everyone downballot sucks, and I'm not going to abandon them to the wolves because people are in a bitchfest over the likely presidential nominee.

Where do you live, what state? Have you caught any zombies or killed any to date? Be careful, whatever disease they have is what made them that way - don’t catch it or we’ll have to kill you and that would be a shame.
I have heard Democrats carry a strain of that disease - at the moment it’s eating their brains but one can’t tell it because they act that way, sick or not.
