I just heard on Fox News that Rick Santorum is suspending his race for President. He will be giving a news conference
You're right. Words mean things. That's why Rick is suspending his campaign. It's a word with a very specific legal definition and status that means he's allowed to continue to accrue funds to retire his campaign debt. If he ended his campaign, he would not be permitted to do so.
It’ll be fun to watch everyone who has excoriated social conservatives and Santorum supporters on this site for the last three months now try to convince us to support Newt.
One and the same practically speaking. The only difference is in the FEC laws over the disposition of the remaining campaign funds.
Technically, Herman Cain only suspended his campaign, too.
No!
You are quite the dreamer if you think that the GOP will get the message. Since when? Dole? McCain? Ain’t going to happen, so we might as well vote for the obama alternative.
First, I know you are a stalwart Santorum supporter, and I want you to know that I can imagine how I would feel if it was Newt making that speech. I’m sorry.
Second, are you watching Megan what’s her name on Fox? She’s saying that Santorum is endorsing Romney and the general campaign is starting. Do you think that’s true or just wishful thinking?
[God keep Bella and help the Santorum family.]
I second that and admire Santorum for his choice.
Bears repeating.
“He’s suspending the campaign, not the presidential race. His daughter Bella checked out of a Pittsburgh hospital this morning and they want to be with her at home.”

Please let this be true. Otherwise our country is spiraling downward. Where will faithful people go?
Something could happen, oh please God.
Jesus Mercy.
LLS
if its down to a write in candidate, its already cooked.
real conservative/tea partier segment of the electorate is miniscule, and thats the reality. no write-in will make a
jot/tittle of difference.
Indeed, Yaelle. Santorum is a great American and a great man. We really need a man like him as our leader. Too many government-educated chumps were convinced that Rick is a liberal and Romney a conservative. Stupid, eh? Bob
Nope.
Man, that has such a ring of truth to it. I’m an elections inspector, and I’m not even voting for a presidential candidate this election. Sad, sad day.
Not me. I'm will be looking to a third party or no vote in that slot. I will NOT support that GOP establishment liberal from Massachusetts nor any RINO EVER AGAIN at any level of government. PERIOD. The establishment GOP has to rot before the Rats can be defeated. Yes, this nation is screwed with either candidate.
Slight edit above that reflects how this attitude worked out last time. And that is exactly what the establishment is counting on...
Four points isn't much. I was listening to some talk radio (can't remember which one) early this morning and he was saying if Rick were to lose his home state of Pennsylvania it would ruin his political career. He also said that in 8 yrs. Rick would still be 3 years younger than Romney is now. He still has time and this race has really put him out there in the public eye.
You spoiled baby. Hope you enjoy 4 more years of Obama! People like you make me want to puke. If we had your types several hundred years ago we’d all be subjects now.
Quite frankly, and this might get me banned but here goes. Most all FREEPER’s I’ve met are lazy and cheapskate bigmouth cybercowbabies. I’ve tried thru the local boards to recruit FREEPER’s for serious candidates to help doorbell, work phone banks, go to political meetings or any other activity related to winning an election.
Know what happens 99% of the time when asking a Freeper to get involved, Hector? They act just like you. They think that by sitting behind a monitor under some nom de plume pecking out some pithy political remark here or at some other forum is a worthy contribution to the war against liberty.
So, Hector buddy, you stay home and play with yourself, but don’t you dare bitch come next November when Obama sails into the Oval Office for a second term. You will be partially responsible. Thanks.
So Saintorum “takes one for the team”. The question remains, for which team?
Fox-Romney News is already talking about how he will soon get behind Romney.
Will he now support RINO Romney, as he has done in the past? OR, at this 11th hour, will he support the real conservative, Newt Gingrich?
