Santorum Pronounces Zimmerman Guilty Before Trial, or Charge
Big Government ^ | March 25, 2012 | Joel B. Pollak

Republican presidential contender Sen. Rick Santorum appeared on CBS' Face the Nation this morning and pronounced George Zimmerman guilty of murder in the first degree.

Admitting that he was "not privy to what’s going on in someone’s mind," Santorum nevertheless said that Zimmerman, who shot and killed teenager Trayvon Martin while participating in a neighborhood watch last month, "has a very sick mind who would pursue someone like this." He added that Zimmerman's motive had been "malicious."

The mental state of the alleged perpetrator, the motive, and the question of whether he pursued the alleged victim, are both critical in determining guilt. Santorum's conclusions are consistent with first-degree murder under Florida law....

Newt is the one who called Obama out for playing the race card while Ricky was saying that Zimmerman was guilty before even being charged for a crime. Geez, it's clear as can be, he is not at a presidential level just for saying that.

Yes. Santobots are falling all over backwards and twisting into...

It seems to me that Santorum is becoming a bit unhinged lately.

I don’t think he’s up to the pressure of the long campaign, which doesn’t bode well for him. Being president is a heckofa lot more pressure than campaigning.

There is an exception to firearms discharge statutes when engaged in self defense.

Try again.

This could be a frigging deal killer with me. Ricks has always been my second choice. But as a practicing CCL holder this is extremely disturbing. This ranks right up there with Newt’s Pelosi/Couch incident as far a pissing me off goes (I’ve gotten over that...). But this is much worse then that indiscretion, apparently in Ricks friggin world, I’m a criminal if I defend myself with my side arm when accosted by a thug. Unbelievable! I swear, I don’t trust any north easterner with my 2nd amendment rights. That’s been one of my main worries with Mittens. At least Newt had a good reply regarding this Zimmerman issue.

>> It is scary. Very scary that we have conservatives ok with Santorum’s statements.

It’s appalling. The statism is strong with this crew.

...what will it take to get that "real America" to jump in the fight?

More pain, unfortunately.

“Somebody is trying to make something of this which it is not.

Who? Why???”

I'm thinking of Obama land: something about not letting “something” be wasted. Wish I could remember the exact quote.

I think the Clintons believe in same philosophy.

With Newt now hopelessly out of the running, all who bash Rick are in the tank for Mitt. . . . . .

______________________________________________________

Your tag line is every bit as out of line as Santorums comments about Zimmerman.

I will be voting Paul now in the primary. Santorum equating Romney and Obama were over the top and I thought it was the dumest thing a Republican could say, but Rick has outdone himself.

Will my Paul vote be wasted, perhaps. Rick Santorum has just insured that Romney will now get 1144 votes and win the nomination on the first ballot.

I am at a total loss for words to describe the stupidity of Obama and Santorums statements about Zimmerman. I understand the president, he is a racist and hates Americans especially white ones. What is Santorums excuse? There isn’t an excuse except stupidity. We don’t need a stupid president. It is too late for Newt to win even in a brokered convention.

I’m having a sinking spell coming on.

OK.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that his screams for help are evidence he "perceived" such a thing.

That is not the point. The point is that a Presidential candidate should not be rendering an opinion on a legal matter where all the facts haven’t been ascertained and a charge hasn’t even been levied.

A proper response is “we have a legal system, and the legal system will determine the facts and determine what if any punishment is warranted.” Santorum is proving himself to be in way over his head, and not ready for prime time.

"At the end of the day, Santorum’s popularity with the voters will STILL exceed that of Newt."

If true, that's only a testament to how ignorant Santorum voters are.

Looks like Santorum might actually give Mittens a run for his money.

Can Someone please tell Santorum not every question must be answered. To think before he answer and then shut up.

So true. The next set of polls will tell us that Rick is going to win by a landslide since he is doing so well in picking up the gangster hoodie voters.

His base will be out in record numbers now.

I believe you are “allowed” to discharge a weapon anywhere in defense of your life. A pistol isn’t worth much without being fired in that kind of situation.
