My best friend for 45 years is in El Ed in an East Coast city. Many of her friends have retired early so they don't have to teach the curriculum required by the Obama Admin’s School Dictators. This comes from the top, I am sure.

I HATE the NEA.

And, isn’t ironic, this is taking place in a town called “Liberty”. Sad how educators have totally taken that word for granted.

The teacher probably has a case of “I don’t know anyone that doesn’t support 0bama”.

No surprise. I’ve seen teachers make the kids write advocacy letters to politicians for grades*, then they mail them in (at least certain ones), and later you see the pol on TV or radio saying, I’m proposing this new legislation because I have received thousands of letters from concerned children. Let me read a few...

Almost as if DNC was coordinating with the teacher unions to give the illusion of broad support and consensus.

*I know a dad who says his kid got a D for suggesting that Global Warming needed a closer look scientifically. Kids that thought it was real got A’s, even with spelign errors.

From Investor's Business Daily (IBD), August 27, 2008:

"Ayers, now a tenured distinguished professor of education at UIC, works to educate teachers in socialist revolutionary ideology, urging that it be passed on to impressionable students.

One of Ayer's descriptions for a course called 'Improving Learning Environments' says prospective K-12 teachers need to 'be aware of the social and moral universe we inhabit and ... be a teacher capable of hope and struggle, outrage and action, teaching for social justice and liberation.

The Annenberg papers are quite extensive — 132 boxes containing 947 file folders with 70 linear feet of material. They undoubtedly contain more surprises regarding Obama's relationship with Ayers, one of many relationships Obama has sought to hide.'..."

From the website of the Revolutionary Communist Party (revcom.us or rwor.org) :

"Create Public Opinion, Seize Power: We are preparing minds and organizing forces for the time when there is a major crack in the system, whenever it comes and wherever it comes from: an opening that makes it possible to bring the future Revolutionary Army of the Proletariat (R.A.P.) into the field and wage a revolutionary armed struggle that actually has a chance of winning.

And we have said that building our party itself is the most important part of organizing forces for revolution. This is true now, and it is true looking forward to the creation of that future R.A.P. and the waging of that armed struggle.":

“This assignment was just creepy beyond belief — like something out of East Germany during the Cold War,” one frustrated father, who asked for his family to remain anonymous, told The Daily Caller.

Even more disturbing, this father is already so scared of reprisals that he will only complain anonymously.

I wonder how many of these 8th graders are even aware of why there might be a negative stigma attached to the idea of “East Germany during the cold war”.

Drill down:

Lucifer>
Saul Alinsky>
Bill Ayers>
Baraka Obama

ANOTHER REASON TO HOMESCHOOL

This ping list is for the “other” articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)

The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. Metmom holds both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail Metmom to let her know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.

Wimp. Wrong response. Stand up and be counted. What's with parents now days? Do they not understand that the school works at the parents' discretion? Be front and center at school board meetings. Run for school board. Sit yourself down in the principal's office and make your demands heard loud and clear. Write letters to the editor. Form a PTO and get other parents involved. Volunteer at school. Be there at afterschool activities. There are a million ways to curtail some of this stupidity. My last one just graduated and I was the cause of some rule change at least twice a year throughout their school years. Sure, it takes some effort to get off the couch but it's for your kids. Besides, it's also fun watching the admin squirm.

Unfortunately, not nearly as creepy as the teachers themselves...
